Sadly my partner experienced the ill affects of altitude sickness and so we didn't make it to the mountain. The guide was so supportive though, we cannot fault the company in the slightest. The breakfast/lunch locations were great and overall this was a fantastic trip that was very good value for money. Please be wary of the altitude issue though and acclimatise properly before booking a trip to rainbow mountains.

This turned out to be an awesome experience. Not an easy trek but worth all the efforts. Our guide had coca leaves,and and something for us to inhale to counter the effect of altitude. I didn't need a horse (optional extra cost). Breakfast was typical Peruvian, I was impressed with the lunch buffet. Lots of tasty dishes. Our guide had enough English to communicate but more information was provided in Spanish. He ensured we stayed as a group + encouraged us along the way. I am glad I brought my walking poles since the stick provided didn't have a good grip in the slippery snow. I also had snacks to have once at the top. They do sell some food and you can take pictures with alpacas. Make sure you have change for that and some soles to pay to use the bathrooms. Wish I was told about the passport stamp once at the top. Didn't know. It would have been nice to be brought back to where we were picked up in the morning. Long walk uphill from the plaza after this trek.
