Save yourself the time lost in line waiting for a taxi or a coach and book a private transfer from Djerba–Zarzis International Airport to your accommodation in Djerba, or the other way around. Enjoy a comfortable and safe transfer in an air-conditioned and insured vehicle. For arrival transfers, your driver will meet you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. From there, get driven to your hotel by a driver approved by the Tunisian Tourism Office, which means, not only will you be in good hands, but you can ask him for some tips and information, if you wish. For departure transfers, meet your driver at your accommodation, then sit back and relax on your transfer to the airport in time for your departing flight. Your driver will wait for up to 60 minutes at the airport for arrival transfers, and up to 30 minutes at your accommodation for departure transfers.

Escape the cities and take in the contrasts of Ksar Ghilane oasis on this 10-hour excursion. In the afternoon, leave the island of Djerba and head by 4x4 with your driver to the desert, a trip that will take about 2.5 hours. It will pass quickly though, as you cross the mountain and stony tracks to the oasis of Ksar Ghilane. This place is known for being one of the gates of the Tunisian Sahara desert, inhabited by families of nomads and Berbers. Once you’ve arrived, your first activity will be a 1-hour camel ride through the dunes. While you’re enjoying the sandy landscapes from atop these tall, slow animals, your driver will be setting up the table. A bottle of wine, appetizers, and some fruits await you when you return from your camel ride. As you eat, enjoy the sunset and the changing colors of the sky. After your meal, you’ll have the opportunity to swim in the natural hot spring. Ksar Ghilane oasis is fed by a source of hot water that you can swim in and is said to have healing properties. Afterwards, return to Djerba and stop to enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

3. Djerba: Wine, Appetizers and Fish BBQ on Flamingo Island

Enjoy a relaxing, private getaway to Flamingo Island with your own driver who will prepare a fresh barbecue dinner and drinks for you. At around 2:00 PM, your driver will pick you up in Djerba or Zarzis and take you out of the touristy areas into the sand dunes. Take a wonderful journey through the impressive dunes, and pass by flocks of birds on your way to Flamingo Island (Ras Rmal Peninsula).  Once there, you can spend your time as you wish: take a stroll along the gorgeous beach, admire the setting sun, and go for a swim in the warm waters. Your driver will take care of setting up the table next to the water and firing up the barbecue. In 30 minutes, your meal will be prepared: aperitifs on the table, a bottle of wine ready to go, and fresh fish cooking on the grill.   Enjoy a good Tunisian wine with your feet in the water, good grilled fish cooked on a charcoal fire, and a unique sunset where the sun hides timidly behind the horizon before sinking. At the end of a beautiful evening at around 8:00 PM, your driver will accompany you back to your hotel.

Day 1 Departure from your accommodation via the Roman road, direction Tataouine. Photo break at the famous salt lake of Chahbania and explanation of the program. Continuation towards the city of Tataouine, free time at the very colorful market then direction the mountainous village of Chenini. Passage by the Ksar Ouled Soltan or similar, collective granary used in the past for the storage of provisions Visit of the dwellings dug horizontally in the mountains in the village of Chenini; Berber village encrusted in the side of the mountain which goes back to the 11th century. Typical lunch at the local restaurant In the afternoon we fasten our belts in the 4x4 for a departure by the sandy tracks "the reg" to reach the oasis of Ksar Ghilane, an exotic oasis; magnificent with its camps and its water source. Possibility of a camel or quad ride (optional and payable on site) on the sand dunes "Erg" to watch the sunset and see the old Roman fort. On the way back, visit of the hot water spring with possibility of swimming (don't forget your bathing suit and towels) continuation in 4x4 to the camp located at the foot of the dunes . Arrival; to attend the sunset installation under tent, dinner and Saharan evening. Day 2 Wake up gently, breakfast, then departure for the mountainous Berber village of Tamezret. Small photo stop and continuation for the village of Matmata known for its houses dug under the ground. We admire its superb lunar landscape (Star Wars movie sets) and visit a family in a troglodytic house. Lunch In the afternoon we take the road back to the village of Toujane, from where we have a panoramic view. Return to the hotel

Travel into the desert aboard your Land Cruiser. As you travel, listen to your guide’s stories about the Sahara Desert, past and present, as well as the many customs and traditions that you’ll experience throughout the evening. Head through the Douz Desert Reserve on an African-style wildlife safari, looking out for Arabian gazelles, Fennecs, oryx, and then stop in a Bedouin-inspired camp on the grounds of a private royal retreat.  Before your meal starts, experience a range of cultural activities. Enjoy an Arabic Mint Tea and sit back to watch the Bedouin chef prepare your food. After your meal, sit around the bonfire and gaze up at the stars, and then make your way to your Arabic tent complete with comfortable mattress, pillows, and a blanket. The next day, feast on traditional breakfast bread and travel back to Djerba.

Get ready for an incredible culinary experience during this unique cooking lesson in Ksar Jouamaa. From the market to your plate, learn how to prepare a salad, an egg brik (a traditional pastry), and a couscous dish using fresh ingredients bought at one of the most renowned souks in town. After pickup from your hotel, the adventure begins with a transfer to Ksar Jouamaa. Arrive and stroll around the market among the vibrant stalls of meat, vegetables, herbs and spices. You’ll learn how these spices have been used throughout the history of Tunisian cooking, and how to use each spice to get a dish just right. Next, during your cooking lesson, learn from your host how to create the best traditional dishes of Tunisian cuisine and enrich your knowledge of the spices and ingredients while making an authentic dish. The most well-known Tunisian dishes include the salad méchouia, ojja, and of course couscous. The best moment of the tour? When you finally feast on your very own masterpiece.
