Escape the crowds and busy streets of Edinburgh city center and get panoramic views of the coast and countryside on a 3 to 4-hour guided bike tour. Choose your bicycle and cycle from the Old Town towards the New Scottish Parliament building and Dynamic Earth visitor attraction at the end of the Royal Mile. Pass the royal Palace of Holyroodhouse and get breathtaking views of the ruins of St. Anthony’s Chapel. Next, make your way up the extinct volcano of Arthur’s Seat, and continue on foot from Dunsapie Loch to get magnificent views from the summit. Cycle back down towards Salisbury Crags and get wonderful views of Edinburgh Castle and the Old Town. Continue to Duddingston Loch to discover the secret oasis of Dr. Neil’s Garden at Duddingston Manse. Bike back towards the city center on the Innocent Railway Path. Pedal through Meadows Park and the Grassmarket to arrive back in the Old Town.

A wee pedal is Visit Scotland's Award winning 'Best Outdoor Experience 2022/23! Start your day of exercise and fun by meeting your group and guide at Bridgend Farmhouse, 10 minutes car/uber from The Royal Mile. After a short meet and greet with your guide, set-off along cycle paths into Holyrood Park. Whilst in Holyrood Parks, you will get the chance to stop for some photos with the stunning backdrop of Arthur's Seat, the extinct volcano. Continue on your journey via a long sweeping downhill ride that will take you to Duddingston Village, home of the oldest surviving pub in Scotland, The Sheep's Heid Inn, built in 1360. A short ride on the road will take you to the John Muir Way, to Portobello Beach where you shall stop for a refreshment. The return journey takes you on a slightly different route to the Innocent Railway Tunnel built in 1831, the oldest in UK and underneath part of Arthur's Seat.

3. Edinburgh: 20-Mile Cycling Loop Tour

Your meeting for this experience will be at the Bridgend Farmhouse, 15 minutes by car from The Royal Mile. From there, you'll start your ride out towards the Union Canal. You soon drop down to the Water of Leith and onto Dean Village. From there, continue your route to the Port of Leith for refreshments. Portobello Beach is a long promenade with an uninterrupted cycle path. Later, you complete your circle by going through the Innocent Tunnel and back to the Meadows. This is a 20-mile round-trip, throughout which you are invited to take it slow to ensure you have enough time to take photos and observe your surroundings.

Very nice tour to get to know the real Edinburgh. Great enthusiastic guide who takes you into account. So if you are not a good cyclist you can do the tour too. It just takes a little longer. We really appreciated it.
