Full description

Take in views of the shimmering shores of Loch Lomond and the imposing towers of Stirling Castle on this full-day tour of the breathtaking Scottish Highlands from Edinburgh. Travel aboard a spacious and climate-controlled bus.

Leave Edinburgh and head west to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Stop at Balmaha to admire sweeping views of Ben Lomond. Have the chance to go on a woodland walk to get some great views of the Loch.

Relax on the drive to Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most important structures both historically and architecturally. Many have been crowned at Stirling Castle, including Mary Queen of Scots.

Purchase tickets to the castle and see a site that was central to William Wallace’s and Robert the Bruce's fight in the Wars of Independence. Alternatively, explore the city of Stirling, which is geographically one of the most significant towns in Scottish history.

Stop to see the Kelpies, the world's largest equine sculptures dedicated to the horse powered heritage of Central Scotland, designed by Andy Scott. Finally, return to Edinburgh by early evening.

The guide made an effort to solve the problems that there were with the audio guides. It left us with enough time to see Stirling Castle and take a quick tour of the city. A pity that the tour did not include the visit to the monument of William Wallace, which was only about 10 minutes by bus from Stirling Castle. In general, satisfactory.

The tour was easy to book and the meeting point was easy to find. The staff was friendly, our guide was funny and very nice. The bus driver was cordial and got us thru some thigh spots without a scratch! The tour had some issues with the audio guides and other technical problems, our guide did the best he could for everybody. It wasn't an easy task to please everyone, but he managed to do it. Time at the locations was good, although not a big deal, I whish we had more time at The Kelpies (but I think everybody wants more time there). We enjoyed our time, the music on the bus and the sights. I highly recommend booking ahead of time. This tour was a last minute booking for us, so we consider ourselves lucky to have found a good price and a fun experience.

The tour was nice, but our guide had a Scottish accent, so we couldn't always understand everything. Also the effort for the "guests" was a bit careless: the bus was very cool due to the climate and the voice of the young lady was very dominant. All in all, everything was fine, our guide was Scottish through and through!
