Full description

Escape the bustle of Edinburgh and take a full-day sightseeing tour of Scotland’s magnificent Highlands. Traveling in a small group in a 16-seat Mercedes minibus, get a more intimate experience as you visit Loch Ness, Glencoe Valley, and Rannoch Moor. Drive past Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, and continue to Stirling Castle, and the National Wallace Monument, commemorating Scotland's hero William Wallace. Stop for a coffee at Callander, before crossing the Highland boundary fault line. Learn about the Highland clans, such as the MacGregors, and the famous folk hero, Rob Roy MacGregor. Continue north through Breadalbane, and ascend Rannoch Moor’s heather and peat bogs, dotted with dozens of lochs. Pass the majestic peak of Buachaille Etive Mor, and descend into Glencoe Valley. Drive under Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, before arriving at Fort Augustus on the southern shore of Loch Ness. Look out for the Loch Ness Monster or simply enjoy the scenery on this 2-hour stop, with time for lunch. Pass the mountains of the Cairngorms National Park, then Loch Laggan, and finally the Drumochter Pass. See the 13th-century Blair Castle before heading through the forests of Perthshire to Perth, the medieval capital of Scotland. Cross the famous Forth Bridge on your way back to Edinburgh.

This was a fantastic day, helped in part by glorious weather. Great driver/guide, Nik... pleasant, entertaining, knowledgeable and engaging. Knew all the tricks and best spots to give us a whistle stop tour through the highlands. Scenery was breathtaking and amazed I was seeing it with my own eyes. Nice stops for refreshments... This trip was £52 and worth every penny. Thoroughly recommend it.

The tour was great! We made many stops that allowed us to take lots of beautiful photos as well as bathroom breaks. Our tour guide, Robbie, also told us many interesting facts about the history and culture of Scotland and the places we visited. Thank you :) The car was very comfortable and roomy as well.

Great day trip showing the best of the highlands in one day. It's a long day trip, but the guide (Barney) was excellent and made it a very enjoyable outing. He gave us advice on what to see / do in the places visited, told some interesting stories and even played some relaxing Scottish music during the journey. A great host I highly recommend the tour company, Rabbie's, as the mini coach was very comfortable and covid-19 safety precautions were in place.
