Vök Baths: East Iceland Geothermal Baths Entry

1. Vök Baths: East Iceland Geothermal Baths Entry

Vök Baths is a geothermal destination on the beautiful Lake Urriðavatn in East Iceland. Located only 3.1 miles northwest of Egilsstaðir, the largest settlement in the East, Vök Baths is an essential stop on any visit to this part of the country. Vök Baths harnesses the geothermal power of the region to create a unique bathing experience with amazing views of the rest of the lake and the surrounding area. Fully immerse yourself in Iceland’s unique and untouched landscape and become one with nature at the country’s first series of geothermal floating pools. An Icelandic hot spring destination like no other, the hot water is so pure, it’s certified as drinkable. Compared to the rest of the country, there are relatively few hot springs in East Iceland, making Vök Baths an attraction you won’t want to miss during your exploration of the East.

What people are saying about Egilsstaðir

Vok baths are great, I love the shape and asthmatic appearance of the pools. I went straight into the last pool, the warmest. Surrounded by Lake Urriðavatn you’re able to take the cold plunge and dip in or even swim before returning into the warm water. There is a steam room with a cool mist area to the left as you leave. I really enjoyed my experience, I had a fruit smoothie, plenty of water and felt like it was similar to some aspects of the sky lagoon. Except not as crowded. Highly recommend!!!

Great experience! Beautiful natural setting, well-kept pools, pleasant the possibility of diving into the lake at about 12 degrees to alternate body temperatures (the thermal water ranges from 38 to 41 degrees). On GetYourGuide I also found the best offer (92 euros per dye person, Comfort ticket). Everything is fine!

These are the BEST baths in Iceland! I’ve been to the Blue Lagoon, Silica Lagoon, Krauma baths, and Myvatn baths this week and this was by far the favorite of everyone in my family. The water is so clean, the facilities are lovely, and the setting of the floating baths is unreal. Plus the cafe is not to be missed!

We loved Vok Baths. Arrived at dusk; watched the sun go down and the stars come out. Stylish, relaxing space and a special experience. Highly recommend.

Very nice bathroom, we liked it very much. Everything new and clean
