Be greeted by the manager and embark on an expertly guided tour of the vineyard and winery. Learn the secrets of English winemaking and take part in a tutored tasting of still and sparkling wines. Next, it's time for lunch. Sit down to a meal showcasing the best seasonal produce that Sussex has to offer, all washed down with a glass of Sussex wine. After lunch, make your way back onto the bus to head to the second winery, where you'll take part in a guided wine tasting. Sit back and relax as you enjoy a quiet moment here, watching the sun go down over the beautiful South Downs. Over cobbled streets we then disappear into the secret garden (one of London's best kept secrets) illuminated with Victorian gas lamps. As Charles Dickens once did we'll explore hidden alley ways as your guide tells tales of Ebenezer Scrooge. Passing through more Christmas markets you'll discover how Queen Victoria shaped modern Christmas, and be amazed at the origins of Santa Claus, Christmas tress and other holiday traditions. Surrounded by the lights and sounds of Christmas you'll get to enjoy a glass of spiced mulled wine before making our way to Trafalgar Square as we round up Christmas past, present, and future surrounded by some of the city's most iconic buildings.

First, visit the finest cheese shop in London. This is where the Queen and Prince Charles buy their cheeses. Here, you will sample a couple of fine English cheeses and receive a talk on the shop and the cheeses they sell. From there, visit the deli in F&M to sample a fine French cheese. Then we move onto an Italian Delicatessen where you will sample there drunken cheese, and finally we will visit a dairy shop near Covent Garden and sample a few British cheeses.

5. Full-Day Christmas Tour of Canterbury, Dover and Greenwich

Spend Christmas Day in the beautiful English countryside touring Canterbury, Dover and Greenwich and enjoying a traditional Christmas lunch. In the morning your tour will begin at the Golden Tours Visitors Centre. Here you will board your luxury coach and meet your professional guide. Your guide will provide commentary about the sites you visit throughout the entire tour. Your tour will first take you through the lovely Kent countryside to Canterbury. Here you will attend the Canterbury Cathedral’s Christmas Day “Sung Eucharist,” which is often graced by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The next stop on your journey will be Dover. Here you will savour a delicious and traditional 3-course Christmas lunch. Your lunch will include a starter course and then a main course of roast turkey with all the trimmings. A vegetarian option is also available upon request. Your dessert will include a steaming Christmas pudding and mince pies. A glass of wine, tea and coffee will also be served. After lunch you will get the chance to see the famous White Cliffs of Dover, which are frequently considered to be the gateway to England. You will also see Dover Castle, a key film location in “The Other Boleyn Girl,” which saw the castle transformed into the infamous Tower of London. Your last stop on the tour will be in historic Greenwich. Here you will learn about Greenwich’s maritime past. Dominating the waterfront is the Old Royal Navy College, which was designed by Sir Christopher Wren. Greenwich you will also notice has many outstanding examples of 17th century Baroque architecture. This comprehensive tour and Christmas lunch is the ideal activity for everyone who is spending Christmas Day in London.
