    Full description
    Do something different during your time in Essaouira and spend an hour exploring the beautiful countryside on horse back. Benefit from pick-up at your hotel, if located outside the medina, and then make your way to the Ranch de Diabat, approximately 3 kilometers south of the city center. Benefit from a horse ride that can be adapted to your equestrian skills and ride at a gentle pace if your are a beginner, or gallop on the endless beaches if your are more advanced. First, head towards the river with your faithful companion and discover the ruins of the old palace of the sultan Mohammed III, who revived the fortunes of the city when he invited Jews and the English to trade there. Continue along the sandy beach and get stunning views of the Portuguese castle on Mogador island in the Atlantic Ocean. Return to the ranch through the forest for the end of the services.

    Know before you go

    Good, well-groomed horses, nice route. Upon recommendation, we wanted to book the two-hour tour directly. Unfortunately, these are not yet available from GetyourGuide. The subsequent upgrade from 1 to 2 hours was possible, but it took a while. The 2-hour ride at sunset is very recommendable, gladly again and again.

    Riding was awesome, on the beach and through the dunes. My brown stallion (Latis) was well cared for and well brought up. I was allowed to trot and gallop and my trainer took good care of me. For 20 euros 1 hour riding with a private trainer - absolutely great. Next time I would definitely book 2 hours - and don't forget to tip in the end!

    We booked a one-hour ride, if you want more beach time, you should better book two hours directly, since the way to the beach definitely takes 20 minutes, but leads through the dunes. In advance, the time will be clarified by email and asked about the riding skills to find the right horse. There is equipment (cap including hygiene hood). The facility and the horses are very well maintained, care is taken to ensure that they have enough rest, overall everything made a very good impression on me!
