Full description
Discover the Everglades National Park, the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. It is a diverse landscape providing crucial habitats for numerous rare and endangered species. It is considered the premier location to view a variety of reptiles, including the American alligator, birds, turtles, deer, wild boars, and even the elusive Florida panther.  The swampland is often referred to as the River of Grass because it creates endless prairies of sawgrass that rise three to ten feet above the surface of the water. The sawgrass is often so dense that travel is only possible through natural water passages. The lush vegetation of the Everglades also includes mangrove, cypress, palms, pines, and hardwood hammocks (small islands).  Ride on an airboat, which is designed to operate well in shallow water and marshlands. Propelled by an aircraft-type propeller and powered by either an aircraft or automotive engine, have a fast and fun journey. The water is shallow enough in most places that you can stand in it so don’t be alarmed if your guide takes a quick dip during your tour.

If you're limited on time, but what an authentic everglades experience, this is for you! The distance from the Miami metro area is reasonable, the location is easy to find, the guides are knowledgeable, the wildlife is numerous, and the adventure is memorable. Don't hesitate visiting. A educational and fun experience awaits you.

This was a lot of fun! More fun than I initially thought. I wish it were a longer tour. We saw plenty of wildlife including the Alligators and our skipper was plenty entertaining. The wildlife show at the end is also entertaining and educational, however, again I wish it were longer. Two things to know ahead of time: They charge an additional $5 park entrance fee when you get there and they do ask for tips. Overall very enjoyable!

Our tour guide was very helpful with anything anyone asked, he had an answer for it. He was very talkative and funny. I wish I could remember his name because he should be noticed. We wasn’t sure how it was going to go because while waiting in line, an older gentleman who was driving one of the airboats got off and was asking a question over the walkie talkie, and no one answered, and he got super mad and stomped off, said somethings about that. Then came back out from inside and said just to let you all know, it’s hot, and they're all hiding, so you probably won’t see any alligators, and then got back on the airboat and said he has to get gas so he’ll be back. But the young man that had us was very, very nice.
