Full description
The Eyre Peninsula is one of Australia’s best-kept secrets and features some of the planet's best aquatic wildlife experiences. Your days will be filled with adventure and evenings sleeping Aussie bushman style in swags under the billions of stars that make up the southern skies, sharing stories with your new friends.  Day 1 (Tues) - Adelaide to Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park Hop in the bus to start driving north, including a quick coffee stop in Clare, before hitting the Flinders Ranges and exploring Alligator Gorge. Enjoy a picnic lunch and then move on to the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park. Camp in stunning Wilpena Pound, and experience a welcome with Aboriginal songs and stories. Eat dinner at the campsite, then roll out your swag for your first night of sleep under the stars of the Milky Way. Day 2 (Wed) - Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park Wake to the sounds of birdsong, and set out on the Hills Homestead Walk. Wander through the tranquil Pound Gap into Wilpena Pound, and follow Wilpena Creek through tall river red gums and pines. Head up Wangara Lookout for panoramic views and keep your eyes peeled for echidnas in the underleaf. You'll also visit the Arkaroo Rock Trail, and see rock art from the Adnyamathanha people. Cool down with another swim, and a second night of swag camping. Day 3 (Thur) – Flinders Ranges to Port Lincoln Visit the Jeff Morgan Gallery in tiny Hawker to see a 360-degree immersive panorama of the region. Travel through Port Augusta and Cowell to arrive in the 'Seafood Capital of Australia', Port Lincoln. Get ready for three nights of camping at Mikkira Station, a private campground surrounded by eucalyptus trees filled with koalas. Day 4 (Fri) - Port Lincoln & Surrounds Pull on a wetsuit for a two-hour learn-to-surf lesson on the beach, or spend time relaxing, swimming or exploring. Enjoy a coastal drive up Whalers Way, then give back by participating in some important koala conservation work at Mikkira Station. End the day kicking back round the campfire. Day 5 (Sat)- Aquatic Adventures or Coffin Bay Choose the optional experience of coming face-to-face with the majestic, Great White Shark and swimming with the ever-playful Australian Sea Lions. Alternatively, stay on dry land and explore some hidden secrets in Port Lincoln, and take an optional Coffin Bay Oyster Farm Tour. Meet in the evening for fish and chips from the award-winning Fresh Fish Place, before heading back to the campsite for your last night together. Day 6 (Sun) - Port Lincoln to Adelaide After breakfast, pack up camp and head to Port Lincoln for a must-do walk up Stamford Hill. Stop for a BBQ lunch at Arno Bay, then board a ferry across the Yorke Peninsula. Grab a coffee at the onboard café and relax and enjoy the two and a half hour journey across the gulf. After disembarking, jump back on the bus for our last stint into Adelaide, where you will arrive at around 8 pm.
