Full description

Experience the beauty and wild side of Alaska. Yanking on their lines and ready to run, your dog team will be anxious to carry you away from your Fairbanks accommodation to this spectacular viewing of the Northern Lights.  Most of the sled ride takes place in an open area so should the Aurora begin early you will have a thrilling view of the sky from the dog sled. The Aurora Borealis is one of the planet's most breathtaking phenomena. In Alaska, a land that stays dark for most of the winter, these spectacular lights bring the sky to life with other-worldly colors that shimmer and dance across the sky. The yurt is only a short drive from Fairbanks but far from the obstructing glare of city lights. Be treated to a hearty midnight dinner in an off-the-grid yurt.  Stay warm with a late salmon dinner and lively conversation in the comfort of your yurt while waiting for the Aurora. The large north-facing windows of your yurt offer the perfect Aurora viewing opportunity. However, should you decide to go outside for photographs or a full view of the sky, you will need to dress in warm layers.

The night dog sledding was a magical experience. The guides were excellent and informative and the dogs so sweet. We did get to see the northern lights when the transportation driver spotted possible lights happening as we were driving out and returned us to the yurt for viewing. Pretty much an excellent adventure. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is the dinner was disappointing.

The entire event was phenomenal. We got to watch our dog mushers harness the dogs while we petted the remaining dogs that stayed behind. The dog sled ride was only exceeded by aurora. We were taken on wooded trails where the snow glistened, the dogs joyously ran, and the fact that it was -16 didn't feel like it at all. Our meal of salmon was delicious and then the star of the evening came to entertain. The northern lights are magical.

It was amazing, The couple that hosted the dog sled and dinner was great. The dog sled was so much, and the dinner was very good. I wish at dinner time they would actually eat with us. I figure they dont do this for more of a couple experience. But the only complaint I have is, is that we had to leave at 2am. Me and my wife felt like we known this couple for years and where good friends. These are they guys that I would want to hang out with on my free time. Thanks for the good time.
