  • San Juan: El Yunque Rainforest and Bio Bay Combo Tour

    1. San Juan: El Yunque Rainforest and Bio Bay Combo Tour

Following a morning pickup at your accommodation, embark in direction of your bio bay and rainforest combo adventure. Enjoy the beautiful views along the scenic route through the Northside of the island and learn some facts about the areas from your guide. Make a stop in the town of Luquillo and enjoy some fresh local fruits before continuing the journey to Puerto Rico's majestic Rainforest. El Yunque is without a doubt Puerto Rico’s greatest natural wonder. It is the only tropical rainforest, and the most studied forest in the United States National Forest System. It is the most biologically diverse forest, hosting hundreds of plants and animals - some of which are only found here in Puerto Rico. Once there, hike through natural trails lined with beautiful flora and fauna, and some river wading, until you'll arrive at a hidden gem located in the heart of the rainforest. Enjoy the b...

Communication was great! Easy transportation. Instructions say to wear swimsuit, but, really a pair of sport legging type shorts would be ideal. Highly recommended lightweight (dri fit) type clothing/shirt (no cotton). You will get fully submersed in the water. Wear old tennis shoes (& old socks) with good grip & plan to discard them or machine wash them due to the soupy rainforest mud. I wore a pair of closed to Keen hiking sandals w/ great grip & they were perfect! The guides were great & take pics & email them to you. You will leave everything on the bus during both excursions. Only brought a bottled water along on trail. No lunch provided, but they stop for smoothies on the way & have a great fruit spread (pineapple, papaya, mango, avocado) for a mid-day snack. Supper (you are responsible for the payment) is early (3:30/4) and was pretty good. Your guide will share a menu & get your order once you arrive to the rainforest. Rainforest portion was amazing! Kayaking was just ok. Enjoy

  • San Juan: Bioluminescent Glass-Bottom Kayak Tour by Night

    2. San Juan: Bioluminescent Glass-Bottom Kayak Tour by Night

Embark on a nighttime adventure into the waters of the Laguna Grande and see millions of glowing plankton. Paddle in a two-person glass-bottom kayak (except on Tuesdays, when regular kayaks are used) for approximately 30-minutes through the mystical mangrove channels leading to the natural reserve of the Laguna Grande. See the microscopic plankton capable of producing natural light at the touch of your hand. Explore these amazing organisms up close as your professional guide takes you on a journey to discover all their secrets. Learn how this fragile and unique ecosystem maintains a perfect balance of life, and what you can do to protect such a special place. Paddle in this safe and closed environment, and watch as the water comes alive with millions of glowing plankton. Be aware that the bio bay is an unpredictable natural phenomenon that may be influenced by multiple factors. Biolu...

The guides were great. But I would definitely take the later tour as the plankton illuminates in much darker conditions.

The rainforest tour was amazing! Don't be afraid to jump off the rocks into the water or off the rope swing. It's not as high as it appears lol. Be ready to get dirty, full of mud. It's worth it.
