After being picked up from your accommodation in Sesimbra, you will head to Fatima, where you will enjoy one of the most important places of Christianity around the world. Once in Fatima, you will visit the sacred sanctuary, the memory chapel, and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity which in 2009 received the outstanding structure award by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering. You will also visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Rosary, which was built at the site of the Marian apparitions which were reported by three Portuguese children in 1917, and better known as Our Lady of Fátima. Later you will see the tombs of Blessed Francisco Marto, Blessed Jacinta Marto and Sister Lúcia dos Santos and the three children, with scenes of the Marian apparitions shown in stained glass.
Afterwards, you will be driven west where you will have the opportunity to visit the Monastery of Batalha, which was built in a Gothic style and classified a world heritage site by UNESCO.
On this private tour you will then take a break for lunch in the colorful fishing village of Nazaré, where you can have a meal of fresh fish. Nazaré is composed by a sandy beach where you can listen to the rhythm of the pounding waves. It is also a perfect place for undisturbed walks along the shore, surfing, tanning, and of course, visiting the biggest wave in the world located on the north beach. You will be driven along the beautiful west coast where you can observe the multiple wild beaches of this remote area. The last stop is in the medieval village of Óbidos, famous for cobbled streets and steep staircases which wind up to the ramparts. From here you can gaze across a countryside of windmills and vineyards.
