Full description

Explore the more unusual aspects of Santorini and get off the beaten path with this private guided tour. Relax and enjoy picture-perfect beaches, quiet local villages, and delicious seasonal tapas and local wines.

Start the day in Fira, the capital and busiest town on the island. Bypass the typical route and discover a hinterland of art in Fira’s whitewashed back alleys where local artists exhibit their work such as paintings, sculptures, artifacts, and other unique creations.

Moving on, visit the fabulous village of Oia, Santorini’s highlight where you’ll explore cliffside laneways and the back alleys of a pastel-colored old neighborhood with maritime and merchant history. Before leaving Oia, discover the smallest bookstore in the world. Housed in a stunning white traditional building, fall in love with this charming literary haven that has been mentioned in write-ups in The New York Times, The Guardian, and National Geographic.

Continue your tour and uncover an inhabited castle village, one of the least visited on the island. While exploring this peaceful settlement, you’ll wander through narrow alleys with medieval charm and end up sipping coffee with a dessert in one of the most traditional island corners.

Next, discover the hiding grounds of the locals during pirate raids while passing through natural pathways to a rock-carved church hidden from plain view. Then head to a secluded beach where you’ll enjoy its lunar yellow landscape and tranquil views.

At your next stop, get familiar with the famous Santorini’s cherry tomato in a historic factory. Wander around its 19th-century heavy machines and hear old stories of local farmers who once reached the area with mules laden with baskets full of tomatoes, turning them into indigenous tomato paste.

At your last stop now you’ll taste the true Santorini with a private wine tasting in an authentic old winery where Vinsanto and other delicious wines are made the old traditional way. Enjoy four glasses of wine varieties paired with mouth-watering seasonal local mezedes (local tapas).
