Spend a day in the natural habitat of fascinating wildlife creatures at Litchfield National Park. After being picked up from your accommodation, ride to the famous Adelaide River. There, you'll board your private boat and cruise up the river. Feed the crocodiles from the boat that teem in the water and see an abundance of wildlife all around you. You may even see a crocodile launching itself out of the water with the power of its tail. At the famous Litchfield National Park, you'll visit three waterfalls – the Wangi, Florence and Buley rock holes – and get the opportunity to swim in all three. Lunch is prepared in the park by your guide – a big bush picnic with an array of wraps, cold meats, bread, salad and fruit. Snacks are also included along the way if you're ever feeling peckish. Local and knowledgeable guides will give you thorough commentary throughout the day and stop for lots of photo opportunities. Marvel at the magnetic and cathedral termite mounds, and take time to visit the butterfly farm. Return to your accommodation in Darwin, or on Sundays and Thursdays, at the famous Mindil Beach Markets.

Leave Darwin and make your way towards the world-class Litchfield National Park, just over an hour's drive from the city. Be surrounded by thick pockets of tropical rainforest, a cool respite from the top-end heat. Jump on the famous Jumping Crocodile Cruise (optional extra) on the Adelaide River, alternatively visit the Fogg Dam Conservation Centre. Explore the traditional lands of the Limilngan-Wulna people and discover the diverse wildlife, home to numerous species of birds, turtles, water pythons, and the iconic Saltwater Crocodile. Visit some incredible monolithic Magnetic Termite Mounds, then have an opportunity to cool off in one of Litchfield’s beautiful natural plunge pools like Buley Rockholes or Wangi Falls. Go to a thundering waterfall-like Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls and marvel at the sheer beauty carved out amongst the rocky escarpment. After a day in the stunning tropical national park, travel back to Darwin.

Litchfield National Park is one of the Top Ends' most popular parks, due to its opportunity to save swimming (where indicated) and its closeness to Darwin. We travel in small groups of between 6-10 guests only in a comfortable minivan and we will make sure you will be spoilt for the whole day. We will pick you up at your hotel at 8.00 am and will make our way to Litchfield National Park. Just sit back and enjoy the views through savanna woodlands and ancient sandstone country. We will break at the only small township of this region, Batchelor, a place of a rich mining and pastoral history. Litchfield offers pristine creeks, water holes, and cascading waterfalls. We will be visiting Wangi Falls, and Florence Falls and have time for walks and a swim at the Buley rock holes, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery. Due to our small group size, we can tailor the day to your liking. Litchfield National Park is the home of the Cathedral and Magnetic Termite Mounds and we will stop and learn about these natural architects of the bush, the termites. Our professional and experienced guide will share the colorful regional history, of settlers, Aboriginal locals, and the first pioneers in the region with you. We offer a healthy Picnic Lunch (We contact you before the tour), or you can bring your own, or purchase a sandwich on the way to Litchfield. We offer fresh fruit, snacks, and iced water, for you all day. You will be traveling in a comfortable, air-conditioned Toyota Minivan and we have sunscreen, insect repellent, and swim noodles available for you. At the end of the day, on the way home we stop at Berry Springs for another swim and the option to drift down the warm stream of waterways at Berry Springs. Please note that Berry Springs has a limited swim season, usually from May/June to October.

After relaxing at camp, head north to Cahills Crossing (conditions permitting), the border of Kakadu and Arnhem Land. Visit one of the best-preserved collections of Aboriginal Rock Art in the world at Ubirr Rock, and enjoy the sunset overlooking the Nadab Floodplain. After a big day, head to camp to prepare dinner and get to know your fellow travelers. Spend the day soaking up the spectacular natural beauty, hiking through lush monsoon rainforests, and swimming in pristine plunge pools surrounded by steep escarpments. Depending on conditions, you may visit Motor Car Falls, Moline Rockhole, Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), or Jim Jim Falls. Time permitting, stop at Nourlangie Rock, a rock art site where archaeologists uncovered works dating back over 20,000 years. Explore the evolving cultural and environmental changes to the area, before returning to camp for dinner and a well-earned rest. Spend the afternoon immersed in Litchfield’s natural oasis of waterfalls, spring-fed streams, and rugged sandstone escarpments. Visit Buley Rockholes, Wangi Falls, or Florence Falls for a refreshing soak in picturesque rock holes and waterfalls. Discover the unique magnetic and cathedral Termite Mounds before heading back to Darwin, arriving at around 7 p.m. Meals: B, L Driving Distance: 500km Hike Distance and Grading: 1 - 2 km Grade 2-3

Day 1: Darwin - Kakadu National Park Begin your adventure in Darwin by heading out to the Wetlands Region, where the stunning scenery of the top end awaits you. On the way, we'll see plenty of Top End birdlife and apex predators... crocodiles! The next two nights will be spent in Kakadu National Park. At Bowali Visitor Centre, we enjoy the landscape and wildlife. Across the border from Arnhem Land to Kakadu, we reach Cahills Crossing. At sunset, we'll visit Ubirr Rock, a rare collection of Aboriginal rock art. Sunset over the Nadab Floodplain will take your breath away. We enjoy an evening at our cozy private camp with our fellow travellers. Drive Distance: 420km. Hike & Grading: 1km loop Grade 2-3. Day 2: Jim Jim Falls - Plunge Pools - Jabiru Return On day 2, we head south into Kakadu National Park. We will explore lush monsoon rainforests, hike through pristine plunge pools and waterfalls surrounded by steep escarpments and rocky cliffs today. Depending on the group's physical ability, we will visit one or more waterfalls. Motor Car Falls, Jim Jim Falls, Twin Falls or Moline Rockhole can be included. We explore the stories of the artefacts at Warradjan Cultural Centre and Gallery, if time permits. We return to camp for dinner and a well-earned rest. Drive Distance: Minimum 150km depending on waterfall access. Note that each journey includes 40km offroad. Hike & Grading: 1.5km - 4km Grade 5/6. Day 3: Kakadu - Katherine Today, we found Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) rock art, Kunwarddewardde Lookout, and Nawurlandja Lookout. Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Rock has incredible Aboriginal rock art. Barramundi Gorge (Maguk) Waterfall, another 4WD track, is one of Kakadu's most picturesque and pristine waterfalls. Fitness and agility are required to trek through the monsoon forest to the plunge pool. Following our 2km walk, swim, and lunch, we can relax under the stars at our private safari campsite in Katherine. Drive Distance: 420km. Hike & Grading: 1.5km Grade 3. Day 4: Katherine - Nitmiluk National Park It's an early start to reach Nitmiluk National Park and board the two-hour NitNit Katherine Gorge boat cruise. You will marvel at your surroundings and the relaxed cruise atmosphere in this area rich in creation stories. After the cruise, you can take a scenic helicopter flight (optional) to see Nitmiluk and Katherine Gorge. Take a dip beneath a cascading waterfall and enjoy a picnic lunch at Edith Falls! After a day of culture, walks and swimming, our private campsite awaits. Drive Distance: 470km. Hike & Grading: 2km Grade 2-4 depending on the walk embarked on. Day 5: Katherine - Litchfield - Darwin On our fifth day, we travel back to Darwin via Litchfield National Park. Visit Buley Rockholes and Wangi Falls after viewing the monolithic Magnetic Termite Mounds in Litchfield. Enjoy Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls among the rocky escarpment. Take a relaxing ride back to Darwin after exploring the Top End. Drive Distance: 470 km. Walking: 1km - 2km.

We are going to offer the cheapest prices of ever on a vip tour. Because of the young age of the participants, we are going to propose beautiful hikes and swims requiring good level of fitness. The itinerary: Pick up at 07.00 from your accommodation. We are going to drive 45 minutes, and we stop at Berry Springs for an amazing swim in the clear crystal water of this magnificent waterhole. After Berry Springs we are heading to Cascades in Litchfield. It will be time for the hike to the upper falls. Let's enjoy the real peace of the outback, rewarding the brave people who decide to leave the easy pathway for the adventure. Around 1.5 hours walk to enjoy a series of pools of clear water. Back to the car it is time to head to Wangi falls. We can swim into the most beautiful waterhole of the Litchfield, enjoying the waterfalls and the forest surrounding the water. It is time to drive to Greenant, another spectacular walk taking us at the top of the waterfall. We can swim while enjoying a breathtaking view. If you are still feeling energetic you could walk to Tolmer Falls lookout for a nice photo shot of this very sacred place up the highest part of the Litchfield. We are going to end the swims at Florence Falls and Buley waterholes. The most visited swimming places in Litchfield. If time left, we could add some surprise offroad drive. It depends on the time of the day and the season. Food n included into the basic itinerary (vip backpacker is a special offer).
