Full description
Your tour begins in the heart of Florence, at Piazza della Repubblica. This square is surrounded by historic buildings and cafes, making it an ideal starting point for your tour. Your local guide will be there to meet you and introduce you to historic establishments like Gilli Café, which dates back to 1733, and Caffe Paskowski, established in 1904. As you leave the original Roman Forum, you'll be amazed by the breathtaking Liberty-style palaces of Florence. You'll see the 1922 Cinema Centrale Gambrinus, which is now the Hard Rock Cafe, and a cocktail bar and restaurant dedicated to the famous Italian actress Sophia Loren. You'll also have the chance to see a mesmerizing mosaic created from recycled bottle caps by Neapolitan artist Luigi Masecchia. On your stroll through the back alleys of Florence, you'll come across a number of small wine windows, known as ‘Buchette di Vino’. You'll have the chance to sample a glass of wine at one of these historic windows and learn about the local wine families who still own many of the city's noble palaces. As you cross the Arno River and enter the artisan districts of Florence, you'll see locals enjoying the city's famous "Happy Hour," with wine glasses in hand. In the neighbourhood of San Frediano, known as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world according to Lonely Planet, you'll experience the city's thriving bar scene for yourself. Be sure to take a moment to capture some memories at Fotoautomatica, one of the few vintage photobooths in the city. These photobooths, which take black and white passport photos, were restored by local Matteo Sani, who has dedicated himself to repairing original photo booths. These photobooths are a unique and fascinating part of the city's history. Finally, you'll make your way to the lively Piazza Santo Spirito, where you can mingle with the locals and enjoy a glass of wine at one of the many local wine bars. This is the perfect opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the city and savour the flavours of Italy. Your Happy Hour Tour in Florence will leave you with a deep appreciation for the spirit of this beautiful city.

The tour was amazing. Received very information about the local area and Maria gave us details on the different wines and regions for all the food. She was accomodating and added extras as and when we asked for them. Would highly recommend
