Full description

Visit the key religious monuments at Duomo Square with pre-reserved tickets in Florence. Focus on the historical and cultural significance of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and its complementary structures explained by an expert local guide. Start your tour at Duomo Square. Learn about the Cathedral and its construction through the centuries and how it came to be the center of Florence’s religious life. Benefit from your guide’s knowledge to understand its relationship with the rest of the magnificent buildings in the square. Visit the imposing Cathedral of Florence dominating the skyline. See it as an artistic wonder for its size and its amazing marble decorations. Enjoy the beauty of priceless treasures of Gothic and Renaissance art. Get priority admission to the octagonal Baptistery of St. John, best known for its ceiling decorated with golden mosaics and its gleaming bronze doors known as the Gates of Paradise.

Join other tourists in gazing at the relief work on the detailed panels and no doubt be surprised to learn that these are not the original bronze doors – the authentic East Doors are currently on display in the Museum. Continue to the Duomo Museum, where incredible masterpieces like the gates of the Baptistery, Donatello’s sculptures, and the original dome’s wooden scaffoldings are exhibited. You could spend hours wandering through the displays, but your guide will focus on highlights such as Michelangelo’s Pietà and other magnificent works of art. The last stop is Giotto's Bell Tower that you can enjoy at your own leisure. Please remember your Giotto Pass is valid for 72 hours.

Tour of the cathedral was great. Tour guide was awesome. On our tour, the baptistery was closed completely. This was not detailed on the itinerary. So you are ultimately paying for something you don’t get. It is closed until end of 2022. Then we went to the museum and it was closed. So we didn’t get two of the 3 things we paid for. The guide was more than apologetic. She did take us to the crypts and climbed the bell tower with us to try and make up for the missed events. You could go back to the museum the next day but without the guide.

Experience was great, our guide was Leonardo and he was extremely friendly and welcoming the moment we met. He was very informative and answered everyone's questions. The pace of the tour was good, time to rest and listen, admire and take lots of pictures!
