The tour was nice, the tour guide, Alice, was exceptional and the best part of this tour. She was knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and made a real effort to provide thoughtful answers to our incessant questions. On this particular outing, you get a sparse 45 minutes in the beautiful town of San Gimignano but you need at least a couple hours. You then visit two impressive wineries, one larger scale and fancy and the other one more local and endearing. The wine, olive oil and balsamic are all delicious. All told, it would be a much better experience to cut out one of the wineries and add that time to the San Gimignano portion. Otherwise, the only other negative was the old vehicle we were transported in. Very dated mini van. The safety handhold on the passenger’s side was broken and unusable.

We had a great time on this tour with 3 couples. Our tour guide, Francesco, was fun and knowledgeable about the area. We stopped in San Gimignano for a quick coffee, shopping, and beautiful views. The first winery was a larger winery and was very generous with their pours. The second winery was a small vineyard and olive tree farm where we enjoyed wine and lunch with their cute farm dog. We were able to purchase wine from both wineries to ship back home (they definitely sold it, but happy to support their wineries). A great way to get out of Florence for the day and still be back in town by 3.
