Full description
Explore the history of one of the most elite families of the area, the Medici family. Learn how the incredible cultural movement of the Renaissance transformed not only Florence but eventually the rest of Europe. Use this information and useful tips to solve riddles.  Visit the Piazza Della Republica, the main square of Florence, which marks the center of the City. After a little talk about the history and the changes of the Piazza Republica, walk straight to the Piazza Della Duomo, which is a showstopper of Filippo Brunelleschi, Giotto, Arnolfo, and Francesco Talenti. Walk through old buildings and historical landmarks of Florence to Palazzo Vecchio, where the David’s’ sculpture by Michelangelo is placed outside the Palazzo Vecchio as a symbol of the Republic's defiance of the tyrannical Medici. The original is in the Galleria dell'Accademia.  Afterward, walk past the Palazzo Vecchio and your guide will talk you through the Uffizi Gallery. This is one of the greatest museums in the world. Next, reach the most famous old bridge in Florence, known as Ponte Vecchio. Continue to Palazzo Pitti, the enormous palace with Florence's largest architectural monument of Filippo Brunelleschi. This was the former household of the Pitti Family and later of the Medici's. As you walk through the narrow roads of this ancient city, your guide will point out hidden treasures and tell you the curious secrets of the city. Finally, your guide will talk you through the artists, architects, thinkers, and political figures who led to the Renaissance. Make your final stop to La Strega Nocciola for a delicious gelato.

We booked a private tour for the family, which is always quite expensive, but it's just what the kids benefit most from - and so do we. The tour was supposed to last 90 minutes, but we were said goodbye after 70 minutes, which disappointed us and shouldn't have happened like this. A treasure hunt was promised and the tour just isn't that. It is a child-friendly, but normal city tour, with entertaining questions for the children in between. I think the tour description should definitely be changed because it creates false expectations. Also, we didn't visit all the sights that were included in the city map distributed at the starting point. So we felt like we missed something. Rosella is very personable and speaks excellent German. She was good with the children and also with us adults. Thanks a lot for this!

Very nice discovery of Florence. The guide was top notch and knowledgeable. Maybe he was walking a little fast? A downside all the same: it is not a treasure hunt but a discovery of the city with the family. We have a map but the search for buildings is not in the order of this one and we are not looking for treasure. Activity without regret however.

We chose this experience to entertain our 6 year old daughter and teach her something in a fun way. We chose the English language because she attends an international school and therefore the offer seemed useful to us. The experience was very satisfying, our guide Giacomo (perfect English, congratulations) was very kind and immediately put the child at ease. Not boring at all, we spent a very pleasant hour and a half walking around the center of Florence discovering small interesting details. At the end ice cream and soft drinks included and even a small gadget!
