This Florence small-group walking tour is a great opportunity to receive an overall view of the historical treasures of Florence. You will also be able to get a closer view of Michelangelo's David, as well as the landmark of Florence, the Duomo. Your local Florence guide will take you around the beautiful and enchanting historical center of the city. In a small group of a maximum of 6 people, you will have the opportunity to feel the city’s vibrant cultural energy.  The tour begins at the Piazza della Signoria, right across from the Palazzo Vecchio, which was once the home of the Medici family. The walk continues through the outside courtyard of the Uffizi Gallery and the majestic and world-famous Ponte Vecchio. Your exclusive guide will then take you into the deeper parts of the city’s mysteries, before proceeding through highlights such as the Church of Santa Croce and Piazza Repubblica. Continue on towards the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (better known as the Duomo), where you will have access to the 15th-century cathedral and UNESCO heritage site. The final stop will be the Galleria dell’Accademia, where you will skip the usual long lines and go straight in to admire the grand statue of David by the Italian master Michelangelo. The tour of Florence was great. Our guide was very personable, great stories. Unfortunately, Get Your Gide promised something different for the tour than what actually happened: The tour in the cathedral was promised, but did not take place at all, despite a personal e-mail confirmation. This was very disappointing, but our guide couldn't help it!

We were amazed to find a guide who lives around the corner from il Duomo, and gained her mayor in art from the art academy in Firenze. Additionally Raphaela was a wonderfully enthusiastic person who added a warm and engaged dimension to her huge knowledge of the city, its art and history. Not a single question was left unanswered.
