Reykjavik: Eimverk Distillery Tour with Tasting

1. Reykjavik: Eimverk Distillery Tour with Tasting

The tour begins with an introduction to the distillery and a welcome drink. Following the introduction, listen to your guide reflect upon the history of whiskey in Iceland and how it came to be produced at Eimverk distillery. Guests are encouraged to participate with questions, so don’t be afraid to interact if there’s something you want to know. After you’ve learned a bit about the history of the distillery, it’s time for the tasting to start. As you go through the products, your guide will explain and reminisce everything from the initial thought process to the current state of development of Eimverk’s spirits. When the first half of the tasting is over, head towards the distillery’s production facility. Learn about the steps of the process right from the beginning of the barley harvesting, to the delicious glass of liquor at the end. Take some photos of the fascinating production area, and then head back to the tasting room for the second half of the sampling. As you taste the spirits, listen to your guide share interesting stories and explanations about the drinks, and mingle with the other guests on the tour.

It was really awesome! Whether gin or whisky, all varieties had a unique and fantastic taste. You can literally taste the "fire and ice" every time you wet your lips. And for the price, you can't complain about the amount of samples either. I had a completely different experience there. Everything could be tasted and the favorites were served twice. On top of that, we were lucky enough to have received a tour directly from the founder. Here, too, you could really feel the passion for history and the art of production. So a clear recommendation for anyone who has even a little taste for gin or whiskey.

We walked in and were immediately greeted with a smile and a gin & tonic. The tasting commenced and was well worth the price of admission! I've done lots of different tastings in the US and this one was definitely one of the best we've ever done. Now if only they would ship products to the Northeast in America!

Albeit a bit out of Reykjavik, the distillery, aging storage, bottling line and tasting room are all comfortable and welcoming. The host brought humor and knowledge as the 5 of us sampled 4 guns and 6 whiskys, with no sales pitch. Most entertaining, a delightful late afternoon adventure.

Very nice tour and the guide was entertaining, He was also clearly happy to chat with us and not just pretending which is always a nice feeling when you do any guide. Worth the money.

Fun and enjoyable experience with many different tastes.
