I went on a boat trip with my boyfriend in the last weekend of the Ghent Festivities. This made it, as expected, very busy on the boat, so that the guide (despite the microphone) was occasionally not fully understood in the back of the boat. Furthermore, the tour was very nice and educational and this was certainly a nice way to see more of the city. In addition, the free ice cream was nice and cooling in the hot weather :)

A good first thing to do in Ghent, as it gives you a good sense of the layout of the small city. Views from the water are lovely. It is difficult to hear the commentary, however. I did not find it necessary as I was too busy taking in the surroundings.

I really liked the fact that you could enjoy the view from the boat and gather a lot of impressions in peace without paying attention to pedestrians. Of course, it is also much quieter and more relaxed than on the streets. Our guide was amazing. He gave the tour in 5 languages and was considerate of everyone. We were also loaned the explanation as a printout so that we had the opportunity to read everything.
