Its construction required various types of wood to give it the appearance of a period boat that characterises it. Mahogany, fir, azobé and Sardinian oak were used, all woods whose mechanical characteristics and response to humidity make them well suited to the construction of the boat's various components. In fact, wood has extraordinary strength and durability, is an environmentally friendly and recyclable material, does not corrode, has high buoyancy and a high acoustic and thermal insulating power.
