Full description
Explore Hamburg from the water. If you register with a group, your harbor tour will take place on your own boat only for your group. 1. Classic harbor cruise: Admire the most beautiful side of Hamburg's harbor during this cruise: the tour starts in Speicherstadt, if the water level allows it, and from there leads up the Elbe River and into the harbor with its world-famous attractions. Explore the harbor basins, quays and ocean-going ships, the St. Pauli landing bridges, the Blohm & Voss shipyard, the Tollerort container terminal, the cruise center in HafenCity, the large and small museum ships and the new HafenCity itself. Hear how the port of Hamburg develops and listen to cock-and-bull stories first-hand. The classic harbor tour is offered in German but is available on request for groups in English. 2. The slightly different harbor cruise - "een lütt pray anners" with a lot of background information If you book this option (only possible for group bookings from 1.5 hours onwards), you will of course also see the beauties of the Port of Hamburg, which - in terms of its size and shipments - is one of the largest seaports in the world. But in addition, you will also be introduced to the harbor from the point of view of the people who work here or on board the large container ships. State-of-the-art technology is present almost everywhere in the port of Hamburg. The physical hardness of the work has decreased. Find out what responsibility a docker bears when he sits in the cockpit of a modern container gantry crane that lifts 70 or even 80 tons. Gain insights into the social situation and working conditions at the terminals. Authentic and humorous, you will be taken into a mostly unknown world. 3. Winter Special - mulled wine cruise port of Hamburg and Elbe During the pre-Christmas season, treat yourself to an interesting mulled wine cruise on the barge through the port of Hamburg. Get to know the port from the point of view of the people who work there and are dependent on it, and marvel at the most modern technology that has reduced physically hard work. Your port expert will share interesting insider knowledge with you, as he himself is in contact with the port's employees. Listen to Christmas traditions, as they are also common in the harbor and on the high seas, while you enjoy your mulled wine (at your own expense) and the view. Duration of a harbor tour: During a 1-hour tour you can see Speicherstadt and Haecceity, the harbor promenade with the landing bridges, the large shipyard Blohm & Voss, the Hansa harbor and the container terminal Tollerort. If you decide to travel for one and a half hours, you also pass along the Waltershof harbor, where usually very large container ships can be found. You will also see the Elbe beach, the museum harbor Övelgönne and much more. To this end, the Speicherstadt and HafenCity will be approached somewhat shorter. If you decide on a 2-hour journey, the latter restrictions can be avoided - or the journey goes on to Hansaport or to the container terminal in Altenwerder.
