Get an early start to make the most of the best time of day for game viewing, as most wild animals start their search for food and water early. See the animals when they are more active in the cool, early mornings and before they wait out the midday heat under shady trees or in their burrows. Climb aboard an open safari vehicle and embark on a game drive through Kruger National Park. Search for the "Big 5" of Africa and other magnificent creatures in the wilderness, where 2 million hectares are home to a variety of animals, from lions to giraffes. Benefit from the convenience of hotel pickup from a range of areas, including Hazyview, Skukuza, Pretoriuskop, Phabeni Gate, Orpen Gate, Crocodile Bridge Gate, Phalaborwa Gate, and Malelane Gate.

Highly experienced field guides are passionate about the bush, and they will share their knowledge of the 147 species of mammals, more than 500 species of birds and 336 species of trees which make this 2 million hectare space their home.    The recorded presence of man – including bushman rock paintings and archaeological sites – are conserved along with the Park’s natural assets. If time permits, at least one of these will be included in the trip.  From an Open Safari Vehicle, you can smell the dust and the sun-warmed grass, listen to the cicadas and the cry of the Fish Eagles, and enjoy the heat of an African day. A safari is also offered in a closed, air-conditioned vehicle. This is a pleasant and comfortable option, especially in very hot weather, for older guests, and for families travelling with young children. This half day Safari is available to those who have limited time or who wish to visit the Kruger National Park in the afternoon.

On request a safari in a closed, air-conditioned vehicle is also available. This is a pleasant and comfortable option especially in very hot weather, for older guests, and for families travelling with young children.

The walk itself is a relaxed 3-hour excursion to enjoy the air and peaceful surroundings of the wilderness. Customers will be transported from the gate in a safari vehicle to a predetermined location where the walk will take place deep in the park.  Take an opportunity to learn to identify animal tracks. Learn from your guides as they use their knowledge of the bush to track animals such as rhinos, elephants and lions — they’ll explain all about the natural wonders and fascinating facts about the African bush.  See, feel and touch the plants, including trees and flowers. Learn about the medicinal uses and other facts about the plants found in Kruger and how previous generations depended on them for survival. After a full 3 hours of walking, learning and exchanging of information the guides will take you back to the gate for your transfer back to their hotel.

This tour starts off with a visit to the Kinyonga Reptile Park, a center for reptile-related research and public education, home to many species of snakes, frogs, and other interesting reptiles. At Kinyonga, you'll get to see and learn about reptiles, numerous amphibians and arachnids, many species of which are endangered in South Africa. After lunch, you'll board a boat on the Blydepoort Dam for a view of the mountains from the bottom of the Canyon. This 1.5-hour excursion in spectacular surroundings is not to be missed - you might spot some game on the riverbanks from the boat, and the occasional hippo or crocodile may come past for a closer look at the visitors!
