Kalasatama or "Fish Port", is an old port area, which has lived a transformation from an abandoned wasteland into one of the most wanted residential areas of Helsinki. The neighborhood is still being built, and constantly changing. Kalasatama is located by the sea. After strolling through the neighborhood we will cross a bridge and arrive to a locally very popular island, Mustikkamaa (Blueberry Land). The island is full of nature, we'll walk around it and observe the local flora & fauna. There are a couple of public beaches also, and especially on a warm summer day, they get packed with local sunbathers. You'll have great views of Helsinki from here. After relaxing in nature, we'll walk back towards the urban city. You'll get to see a bit of street art in Suvilahti Art District, right next to Kalasatama. In the end, I will show you my favorite part of Helsinki, Teurastamo area, which used to function as an abattoir.
