Day 1
After getting picked up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh, enjoy a 1.5-hour drive through spectacular rice paddy fields to the pier. Here, board a boat for a cruise along the Ham Luong River. Stop at various local workshops, including a brickworks, where bricks are still painstakingly made by hand; a coconut processing workshop, where you can sample fresh coconut and see how every single part of this versatile nut is turned into food and other products; and a mat weaving house, where straw mats are woven using a handloom, and even have a go at weaving yourself.
Stop at a quiet village for a quick stroll around to experience authentic Delta village life, before boarding your rickshaw. Travel through green rice fields and vegetable plantations, stopping to visit fruit orchards along the way to see the real Mekong and its culture. Break for lunch at a local restaurant before boarding a rowboat to head to your homestay for the night. Relax and disconnect in this serene paradise, miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. After some fun activities, sit down to dinner freshly prepared by your host.
Spend the rest of the evening at your leisure, pay a visit to the local village, lie down on a hammock, read a book or listen to music.
Day 2
Rise early today to head to "the land of dragon fruit", Go Cong. Enjoy a motorbike drive through a dragon fruit garden and experience an explosion of colors, aromas, and tastes before crossing the river to Tan Thanh Island.
Ride along the island's narrow tracks, surrounded by a profusion of plants and rural life, and make your way to a coconut processing plant, a place where the locals make brooms and mats and where roofing material is made from water coconut leaves. Enjoy a warm greeting from the inhabitants and sample some delicious fresh coconut juice.
Finish your magical time on the Mekong with a sampan ride along the river to a beautiful riverside home where you will enjoy a delicious seasonal lunch before heading back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh.
