Walking tour with a local

Before the tour the local guide (in our case a student) contacts you to see if you have any specific interests so it can more tailored to your needs. We did a lot of walking and occasionally took a local bus, so good walking shoes are a must. The guide was pleasant and it was nice to hear some personal aspects of living in a city like HCMC. All in all a nice experience.

Our guide Lam was very motivated and guided us through places where we would have not gone otherwise. It was really helpful to have some additional explanations and not only walk through Chinatown and some other roads. I enjoyed that he is not a professional guide and works during the week as a professional in a industry company. He uses the tours to get additional inspirations from foreign countries and to further improve his english. He was very knowledgable on local fruits and in case he didn‘t know the english translations quick in googling them and showing the results. Although the tour is officially only planned for 3h Lam took some extra time to folllow our wishes and take time for photos ending up with more than 4h in total. We really enjoyed the time with Lam.

Our tour guide was Huyen, she was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Once we began our trip, she was very informative and extremely knowledgeable. She gave us lots of recommendations for places to eat and trips to go on/places to see. Would recommend Huyen for this trip.
