We were so looking forward to the Port Arthur tour, however by the time we got there it was pouring with rain. We couldn’t hear what the tour guide was saying over the rain beating down on our umbrellas and by the time she finished speaking it only left us with about 30 mins to explore the site (which takes much longer than that), before we got on the ferry however you couldn’t see anything out of the windows due to the rain. It was disappointing but we will definitely be back to finish off what we didn’t get to see. Our tour guide Nigel was such a lovely man, he had quite a lot of knowledge about the area and took us to some nice little places on the way back.

Amazing tour,

The tour guide we got was sue, she was absolutely amazing, full of knowledge and made the day really enjoyable for us! Her commentary on the way to Port Arthur was highly welcomed and the historical site was incredible! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in Australian history

Because we booked to do this tour we discovered after we booked it that on Saturdays this tour allocates 2 hours at the Salamanca Market. For us this was very frustrating as we were not interested in going to a market and it meant far less time at Port Arthur so we were very rushed there and did not have enough time to see everything at that site. So unfortunately the tour did not fully meet our expectations. But the bus driver was great so that was a bonus.
