    Travel in comfort in a luxury Mercedes van from Auckland to the famous Hobbiton Movie Set. Your trip begins with a pick-up at your preferred location in Auckland. Enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive into Waikato with stops for photos en route.  On arrival, spend 30-45 minutes at the official Hobbiton Gift Shop and have a chance to grab a drink or a bite at the famous Shire's Rest Café. Next, embark on a 2-hour guided tour of the 1,250-acre sheep farm with amazing views of the Kaimai Ranges. Your guide will then lead the way through the 12-acre site that’s home to Hobbit Holes, the Old Mill and the Double-Arched Bridge. Stop for a complimentary drink at The Green Dragon Inn. At the end of the Hobbiton Movie Set visit, head back to Auckland along the scenic roads of Waikato, arriving at approximately 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM.

    Chris (driver/quide with Auckland and Beyond) was great! Got us there and back again in a timely manner with humor and care. Got to Hobbiton and it seemed everyone working there knew and liked him, from the other drivers to the guides showing us around the movie set. Highly recommend you continuing working with A&B in the future.

    It would have been a perfect day if the weather had cooperated. Still I had a great time. The drivers from and to Auckland were pleasant and safe drivers. The tour of the Hobbiton set would have been better if it were possible to be in smaller groups of maybe 4 or 5 rather than the bus full of about 20 that each group was composed of, but that´s not on you.

    Chris (our tour guide) and the movie set, both were amazing!

    My tour guide up to Hobbiton was Chris (from the Auckland and Beyond Tours). Fabulous person! Lucky to have him on that day. The tour guide at the Hobbiton, though, seemed to be in a hurry (that's something I didn't expect). In my opinion, he didn't give us enough time to roam around and enjoy our beer (in fact, he seemed upset because we took a bit longer to take the bus). The rest was perfect. A must see scenic beauty (whether you are a fan of the movies or not). Would definitely like to visit it again.
