Start the day at Brooke Street Pier on the picturesque Hobart Waterfront. The morning half of the tour takes place in the beautiful Huon Valley, home to Tasmania’s bountiful apple and cherry orchards. Sample award-winning wines at Home Hill Winery, including sparkling, chardonnay, pinot noir, dessert wines and more while taking a leisurely stroll through the vineyards. At Pagan Cider Cellar Door, experience traditional farmhouse-style organic apple ciders and compare them to more modern examples made from a variety of fruits from the valley. Local produce from the valley will be on offer for lunch at Willie Smith's Apple Shed. After lunch, start the whisky and beer tour. Visit the Lark Distillery Cellar Door and taste the famous Lark Classic Cask whisky. Taste three impressive whisky varieties at Sullivans Cove Distillery before enjoying craft beer at the Last Rites Brewing Company. The tour concludes at Hobart Brewing Company where you can enjoy a drink of your choice.

2. Battery Point: Hastings Caves, Thermal Springs, and Airwalk

Go an adventure in southern Tasmania with this day trip from Battery Point. Visit old trees and walk across swinging bridges. Explore Hastings cave and take a dip in a warm thermal pool. Learn about local produce at Willie Smith’s Apple Shed.  Be picked up from your accommodation and sit back and enjoy the views as you descend into the beautiful Huon Valley on a winding road. Stop at Tahune Adventures, where can walk among the treetops on the Airwalk, a steel canopy that hangs 50 meters above ground.  Cross the river on a swinging bridge before following the Huon Pine Trail. Breathe the fresh forest air and stop to touch one of Australia’s oldest living trees. Find out how fire has affected the forest and see firsthand the natural regeneration that occurs in a forest environment.  Choose to purchase a Cable Eagle Hang Glider ride that will whisk you 250 meters across the the Huon River at speeds of up to 40 km per hour. Have the chance to buy lunch a the café which serves local produce along with Tassie wine and cider. Continue on a drive through the deep south on the way to the Hastings Caves. Journey underground with a guide to see the largest dolomite cave open to visitors in Australia. Admire spacious caverns, stalactites, columns, shawls, and stalagmites.  Head to a nearby swimming pool which is fed by thermal springs which has year-round 28 degrees Celsius water. After a relaxing soak, make your way to Willie Smith’s Apple Shed.  Enjoy the atmosphere of this rustic barn house, cidery, and restaurant where you can purchase a tasting paddle or hear about the Huon Valley’s history of apple growing. Return to your accommodation in Battery Point.
