Upon arrival, your private Egyptologist guide will take you to Giza Plateau to see the oldest of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Get breathtaking views of the Pyramids of Giza as you explore the mortuary temples of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus.

Learn the story of how the temples were constructed and hear the stories behind their legends. Continue to the Great Sphinx, the giant statue of a reclining mythical beast with a lion’s body and the face of the Pharaoh Khafre. Go to the Valley Temple opposite, attributed to the Pharaoh Khafre, and marvel at the feat of ancient engineering.

Next, take a break for lunch at a local restaurant. Then, drive into central Cairo to discover the artifacts at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square with fast-track entry.

Designed by French architect Marcel Dourgnon, the museum’s collections exceed 120,000 masterpieces from the pre-dynastic to the Pharaonic and Greco-Roman periods. Learn about the mummification art of Ancient Egypt before your return transfer to Hurghada.

6 hour overnight travel (as expected) in a small van with 14 passengers might not be the most enjoyable travel. Would be nice to set expectations with your tour provider before booking. However, you will find friendly staff , driver etc so the experience will not be terrible. Also please be aware that for European travellers the stop overs at toilets will be a difficult experience unless prepared. You might find long queues in front of toilets with no lock, no water, no toilet tissue papers. Pls carry toilet tissue papers with you. But no matter which trip you choose, this could be a universal problem on that route with any tour operator.

The guide (Zizou) was amazing, caring and passionate. Unfortunately the visits are hasty, the program is dense and the time allocated insufficient. We spent more time on the bus than on site. Which is a shame given all there is to see and admire. Nevertheless, an essential excursion in our eyes for a short stay in Egypt. Out of there, it would be interesting to take tourists to a real local restaurant for lunch. The buffet leaves something to be desired and absolutely does not allow you to eat “locally”. As proof, only groups of tourists were present around us. No Egyptians. Crossing the Nile by felucca is worth it but not essential. It is not a question of crossing the Nile but of following it to the restaurant. In summary, we recommend this excursion!

Expectations for the tour to Cairo from Hurghada by bus were fully exceeded by both of us! Here is a detailed report for future adventurers: You have to be able to cope with the approx. 8 hour drive there and 5 hour drive back, it is best to try to sleep. Arrived in Cairo our German guide Rasha welcomed us. She made the day PERFECT, so that it was quickly forgotten. She accompanied us through Cairo all day, good German, very informative and safe. Starting at the museum, then optional Nile cruise for an extra 10€ and then buffet lunch and tour to the pyramids. Rasha was there for everything and an incredibly great companion. Recommended tour for adventurous people who want to experience Cairo and see how it is. It doesn't get any better with Rasha and the whole tour. The only thing that was difficult for us was tourism at the pyramids and the condition of the animals with the riding offers, which we didn't support. Thank you Rasha! Toby & Lisa
