Full description
The original whale watching tour is now available carbon neutral. The local tour operator has adopted an active environmental policy based on the idea of sustainable development. In 2015, it became the first whale watching company in the world to offer carbon neutral whale watching. In cooperation with some other actors, a unique hybrid propulsion system that allows running the ship on renewable energy instead of fossil fuel has been developed.  Experience the tour on a carbon neutral boat and discover the magnificent nature of Skjálfandi Bay observing whales, dolphins and seabirds in their natural habitat. Enjoy smooth sailing and treat yourself to a cup of hot cocoa and cinnamon buns. Join the tour and enjoy an authentic wildlife adventure with the pioneers of whale watching in Iceland.

The trip was great with a marine biologisch on board who could explain a lot about whales and birds and all the marine animals living in the bay. The boat was completely silent, which was so enjoyable. We drove further out to the bay to see whales and even saw a blue whale and humpback whales. Can highly recommend!

Though the tour we booked from Húsavik was cancelled because of the weather, we were offered to take it later that day from Húsavik, or the next day from Hjalteyri, where the weather was better. We decided to take it from Hjalteyri, and it was the best choice, we could see a lot of whales, some of them really close. Highly recommendable!

Although we saw only one whale, we had followed it for about one hour and it was amazing! It really was a great experience and we would recomend it to anyone visiting Husavik! Especially nice was the silent sound of our boat travelling out at sea (carbon neutral).
