The adventure begins with pickup between 8:30 and 9am from your hotel in Marrakesh. Head south towards the vast Agafay Desert, admiring the changing landscape along the way as the city gives way to luscious greenery. Arrive at the large village of Imlil located at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains, then pass through the incredible Kik Plateau. Next, embark on a 30-minute camel ride and soak up views of the surrounding landscapes. After your ride, enjoy a relaxing tea break and learn about local Berber culture, as well as their traditions, history, and way of life. Pass through several Berber villages on your way to the Amizmiz Valley, then arrive at Tinirt Village where you can have lunch at a traditional Berber house. After lunch, continue the tour to the Great Plain of Haouz, passing through the village of Ouled Mataa which was originally inhabited by Bedouin Arab tribes from the desert. 2. From Marrakech: Atlas Mountains Full-Day Hiking Trip

Explore the High Atlas Mountains on a full-day hiking excursion and discover several Berber villages and scenic landscapes. Ride a camel along picturesque trails and enjoy a traditional lunch in a Berber household with local mint tea. Depart Marrakech in the morning and drive for 1 hour to the Moulay Brahim Gorges. Arrive at the main trailhead with streams and paths branching out in all directions, and experience the dramatic scenery on a camel ride. Reboard the vehicle then continue into the Imlil Valley, passing many Berber villages along the way.  Leave the vehicle at Imlil to head into the village, where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea. After, set off on a trek for 2 to 3 hours to Armed, the highest and biggest village in the Imlil Valley. Hike to the Berber village of Ait Souka, passing the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa, and Imoula en route. Stop on the way at Tamatert, and take in the glorious views of ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn, and vegetables surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. Continue for another 30 minutes to arrive at the home of a Berber family in Ait Souka, where you can enjoy another mint tea and lunch in the home of a Berber family. Return down the other side of the valley via Taourirt, and continue to Marrakech for your drop-off at the end of the tour.

After morning pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech, set off on a roughly 1-hour long drive into the High Atlas Mountains, bound for the mountain town of Tahnaout. Arriving, you’ll be paired with a horse and provided with all the necessary equipment to set off on a journey through stunning mountain trails. Your guide will lead you through towering juniper forests, steadily through the foothills of the mountain range, up to scenic viewpoints over the Asni Valley and sprawling Al Haouz plains. Ride on to Rha Moulay Brahim, where you’ll drop off your horse. Continue on, via car, to Imlil for a sumptuous local lunch with a view of the highest peaks of the High Atlas Mountains. 4. Mount Toubkal 4-Day Trek

On the first day, after being picked up from your hotel in Marrakech at 8:30 AM, drive towards Imlil valley where you will be met by a local guide. Check in at a guesthouse before your set off on an acclimatizing hike to Tizi Mzik pass Stop for lunch prepared by a cook then walk back down to your lodge in Imlil for an overnight stay.  After breakfast, hike along the Mizane Valley towards the village of Aremd. Continue east and cross the floodplain along mule tracks and up into the high rocky cliffs above the valley. Cross the river until you eventually come to the pastoral shrine of Sidi Chamarouch. The village sits beside a small waterfall and a jumbled cluster of houses. From here the trail continues to climb steadily, snaking and zigzagging its way up to the Toukbal Refuge for your stop for the night. On day 3, after an early breakfast, climb to the summit of Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. The walking is relatively straightforward, but the scree and the altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts. When you reach the plateau and the summit, take in the breathtaking unrestricted vistas across the Marrakesh Plain, the High Atlas Mountains in the North, and the Sahara in the South. Return down the mountain to base-camp for lunch and an overnight stay. On the last day, walk back down to Imil and stop for lunch at the lodge before you transfer back to Marrakech.

5. 2-Day Toubkal Climb from Marrakech

Spend 2 memorable days in the spectacular Atlas Mountains on this trekking excursion from Marrakech. Take in stunning views, enjoy Berber hospitality, and ascend to the summit of Toubkal. Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Nelter Refuge You’ll be picked up at your hotel after breakfast and head off on the 90-minute drive to Imlil village. This is where you’ll meet the rest of the small team before embarking on a 5-6 hour trek to the small shelter under the top of Toubkal. In some places, the paths are quite steep and narrow, as you continue to rise through the secluded mountains. The route takes you through several passes before you arrive at the shelter where you can enjoy Berber hospitality and spend the night. The first day's trek will involve walking for 5-6 hours and a climb of 1,500 meters (4,921 feet). Day 2: Toubkal Refuge – Toubkal Summit – Imlil – Marrakech On the second day, you’ll make the ascent to the highest point of the Maghreb. Note that this climb does not present any major difficulties. The last peak of Toubkal is wide and the climb is not as steep on the approach to the summit. Marvel at the cliffs that overlook the other side of Lake d'Ifni. After reaching the highest point in North Africa, you will descend to Imlil, where you’ll be picked up for the return trip to Marrakech. The duration of the second day’s trek is approximately 8 hours. You will make an ascent of 1,000 additional meters (3,280 feet). In total, the descent will be approximately 2,468 meters (8,097 feet).

Start your day with pickup in Marrakesh at 9:00 AM. Your first stop is the Atlas Mountains. Visit a traditional Berber market on the way and an Argan oil co-op. From Marakkesh, you’ll arrive at Imlil. From there, you'll head to the highest and largest village in Imlil Valley, Armed. Either choose to walk to Armed, or you go by camel. See the waterfalls, as well as the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa, and Imoula. To add some more glamor to your journey, your tour guide will stop at Tamatert, so that you can enjoy the amazing view of ancient irrigation fields that are surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. From Tamatert, pass through the Ait Souka village on the way to the next stop at Kik Plateau. This is a shared trip to Imlil from Marrakech which starts around at 9:00 AM with the pick-up from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech. It takes 1.5 hours to reach Imlil park. 10. From Marrakesh: 3‐Day Trek to Mount Toubkal

On the first day, you will depart from Marrakesh around 9:00 AM in private transport. The journey takes about 1 and a half hours and passes south through the Moulay Brahim Gorges to Imlil. Imlil is a village set in the upper level foothills of the Western High Atlas mountains, a main trail-head with streams and paths branching out in all directions. Here, enjoy a welcome glass of mint tea in the village and meet your local guide prior to setting out for a four kilometre excursion. The purpose of the first day is to acclimatize to the high altitude of the region. Travel south to the Berber village of Aroumd (Aremd), passing the hamlets of Ait Souka, Targa, and Imoula, situated along the slopes. Gaze upwards at the jagged Western High Atlas peaks of the Toubkal Massif along the way. Once in Aroumd, watch over the ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn and vegetables surrounded by almond and walnut trees. Travel onwards to lunch which will be served by a Berber family in the village of Ait Souka, where you will stay in a guest house for the night.  On the second day continue eastwards, crossing the flood plains as the route winds along mule tracks up into the high rocky cliffs above the valley. Crossing the river you will arrive at Sidi Chamarouch, which attracts tourists and pilgrims. From here the trail continues to climb steadily, snaking and zigzagging its way up to the snowline to the Toukbal Refuge (3206m), which is the stop for the second night. The second day comprises of about five hours of trekking. On the third and final day, rise early for the climb up Mount Toubkal. This is a fairly long day with 8-9 hours of trekking, involving 900m up then almost 2,500m back down to Imlil. At the summit of Mount Toubkal, catch wonderful views over the Atlas mountain range and the Sahara Desert. Then, make the long journey back down past the refuge and the well-worn path back to Imlil. Then be picked up by private transport to be taken back to Marrakesh, arriving back at approximately 5:00 PM.

We had a lovely day on the trek with Mohammed in the Atlas Mountains. It was a beautiful experience and a great break from the chaos of Marrakech! The trip there was also very comfortable and our driver Hassan was great and made us feel very safe. We can really recommend doing this trip! It was a highlight of our trip to Morocco.

We really enjoyed this excursion. For the price, we were able to do a lot. The guide assigned to us was very attentive and knowledgeable. We did a lot of picture spots as well.

Great tour everything went smoothly our guide for the day was also excellent. We have a nice lunch and also tea in a welcoming family home.
