Full description

Depart from a central meeting point in Inverness, where you will meet your guide and board the mini-bus. First, stop at Eilean Donan Castle and take plenty of photos as you admire the majestic beauty of this iconic sight in its wonderful coastal location.

Upon arrival in Portree, make your way to the harbor viewpoint where you can see the pretty pastel-colored houses. Enjoy a short stop here, where you can also purchase a light lunch. Next, stop at a loch-side viewpoint, and discover the unique rock formation of the Old Man of Storr. See the 50-meter high pinnacle that juts out from the Trotternish Ridge and is recognizable from blockbuster films including Ronin 47, Snow White & The Huntsman, Prometheus, and The BFG.

Continue to Kilt Rock, an exposed sea cliff that resembles the traditional Highland kilt. Be amazed by the imposing waterfall that cascades 60ft (180m) into the Sound of Raasay below. Visit the Quiraing landslip on the eastern face of Meall na Suiramach. On a clear day, see the Outer Hebrides and the Scottish mainland, framed by pinnacles, cliffs, and great buttresses. Enjoy some time for a short hike at this scenic location.

Continue to the Fairy Pools, a series of crystal clear waterfalls and pools surrounded by the stunning backdrop of the Cuillin Mountain. Finally, stop for some photos of Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness. Admire the sight of the castle on a distinctive peninsula jutting out onto the mysterious Loch Ness, before heading back to Inverness.

This was an absolute treat of a tour, but it was only made better by our tour guide Rob. His history was profound, and his storytelling was even better. He made us laugh constantly, and created such an inviting atmosphere. The tour hit everything I ever wanted to see, and more! It’s the perfect way to spend the day.

One word for today: magical! From sunrise to sun set, the experience was nothing short of wonderful thanks to “original” Rob. His knowledge of the land, its history, geology, its flora & fauna is incredible, all delivered with this wonderful Scottish sense of humour & with so much humility. You never feel lectured, just someone who deeply loves his land & culture & is sharing his passion. Rob made today- along with Mother Nature who blessed us with incredible weather, a multitude of rainbows, no tricks from the fae & of course we saw Nessie ;) she showed up only for those who can see magic. Today was beyond what I had dreamt of when thinking of coming to the Highland & Skye. Thank you Rob, for your kindness, generosity with your explanation, for taking us to all those wonderful places & helping us making memories. I hope you get this as you get home! ;) a bientôt! A long day but so worth it. Our guide Rob was brilliant. His knowledge, stories, jokes and games throughout the long spells on the bus were great and certainly helped pass the time. The Fairy Pools were my favourite part of the tour, nature at its most stunning! We crammed a lot in to the day and it is tiring but don’t hesitate to book it, a great snapshot in to the beautiful Isle of Skye.
