Jaipur Amer Fort, Jal Mahal & Stepwell Private Half-Day Tour

4. Jaipur Amer Fort, Jal Mahal & Stepwell Private Half-Day Tour

Choose an early start between 8AM and 10 AM to beat the heat and crowds. Start off with a quick tour of Jaigarh and its panoramic views of the city from the Aravalli Hills. See the “Jaivana”, which was once the world’s largest cannon on wheels. Next, drive outside of Jaipur to the UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most opulent hill forts of India, Amer Fort. Stroll through the combination of royal Rajput residences, temples, and courtyards which are laid out across multiple levels overlooking Lake Maota and the gardens. Step inside the impressive hall of mirrors, known as Sheesh Mahal or "Diwaan-e-Khaas" and see the various gateways known as 'Pol' which make for countless photo opportunities. Mindful of ethical tourism practices, this tour does not offer elephant rides to the top of Amer Fort. Then, stop at Panna Meena ka Kund, a traditional Rajasthani Baori (or stepwell) which is known for its symmetrical architecture and zig-zag steps. This delightful spot was made famous in the movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and makes for a perfect memory of Rajasthan's incredible architecture. Choose to make a quick optional lunch break, at your own expense. As you head back towards Jaipur, make a final stop on the promenade of Lake Man Sagar, home to Jal Mahal or the Water Palace. This partially submerged summer palace also attracts migratory birds in the winters. The tour ends with a drop to your hotel or another place of preference within Jaipur.

I arrived at airport and very punctual my driver was waiting for me to take me to me hotel drop my bags and then go to Ranthambore. It’s a long drive, so be prepared for couple of hours in the car. He would stop as many times as I asked him. When we got to Ranthambore we stopped to have lunch, and then to the office to wait for the Jeep. I recommend that if you are less than 4 persons traveling get a Jeep! It’s very nice a little more expensive, but I thought it was worth it. The national park has a lot of entrees and unfortunately the one we chose we didn’t see any tigers. But the view is beautiful we got to see other animals, and that’s part of nature. I know people that have done the tour 5 times and never saw tigers, and people that first time saw 2-3 even 4 tigers. So it’s just a matter of luck. We started at 2:10 - finished at 6:15 And then I got dropped off at my hotel in Jaipur. Long day, but I loved the experience. I think that it’s worth to try it.

It was a very good experience. The driver was really good and careful, the guides in the park were gentle and informative. Most important of all, we saw two tigers and a lot of other animals, like crocodiles, deer and thousands of unique birds. Important information before you go: - The drive is long (about 3h each way, 6h total) and you will be on the tour for also 3h. - We did the group option with ˜16 people. If you have the money, I would chose the jeep/small group option

It was an amazing experience. we were picked up on time from our hotel and the driver was very nice and drive safely. we then had to wait about 1.5 hour for the safari to start as the safari timing is decided by the national park. Our zone was already chosen and was said to be one of the best ones for spotting tigers. we did see a tiger up close and he even walked in front of our Jeep. Was an amazing experience and would only recommend to go for the Jeep option.

Great Nature Advanture, Everything went smooth according to description and plenty of nature to see throughout the park. Lucky enough to see a Mother Bengal Tiger ! It is a long day perhaps worth staying a night at the park and fitting in another safari the next day if time permitting

After picking us up at the hotel, we went to Visit Amber fort, certainly the most beautiful attraction in Jaipur. Beautiful buildings, with elephants accompanying you to the entrance. Finally the Wind palace and a walk to the bazaar. All always in total safety, all very pleasant.
