Full description

After being picked up in mid-afternoon from your hotel in Jaisalmer, the airport, railway station or the bus station, you will proceed to the Sam Sand Dunes and Khuri Sand Dunes located 45 kilometers from the city. Once here, you will head out for your camel safari adventure across the Thar Desert. The major attraction for tourists visiting Sam is this native experience of the camel safari, one of the most spectacular and unique ways to experience Rajasthan. Camels are the "ships of the desert", and will guide you through this vibrant landscape. You will spend approximately 1-2 hours in the Thar Desert, before being able to enjoy the mesmerizing sunset as well as a Marwari-style dinner, served at a local's house.

Ce soi-disant safari en chameau dans les dunes s’est révélée une énorme supercherie. Un chauffeur est venu nous chercher à l’hôtel pour faire 40kms et nous amener dans un endroit où commence les dunes du désert .. mais où s’agglutinent surtout les touristes, les soi-disant tentes dans le désert (entassées les unes aux autres..) Le safari en chameau a duré 15´ le temps de monter sur une petite dune . Véridique!! Accueil totalement anonyme (aucune présence du tour opérateur sur place ) . Ils voulaient nous planter 1h30 sur la dune au milieu de tous les touristes pour attendre le coucher du soleil, ce que nous avons refusé . La suite (danses indiennes & repas dans le soi-disant désert..) se préparait au milieu du camp de tentes de touristes . Nous avons demandé à rentrer à l’hôtel pour nous éviter cette mascarade .. excursion à déconseiller absolument !!!
