Jaipur Amer Fort, Jal Mahal & Stepwell Private Half-Day Tour

1. Jaipur Amer Fort, Jal Mahal & Stepwell Private Half-Day Tour

Choose an early start between 8AM and 10 AM to beat the heat and crowds. Start off with a quick tour of Jaigarh and its panoramic views of the city from the Aravalli Hills. See the “Jaivana”, which was once the world’s largest cannon on wheels. Next, drive outside of Jaipur to the UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most opulent hill forts of India, Amer Fort. Stroll through the combination of royal Rajput residences, temples, and courtyards which are laid out across multiple levels overlooking Lake Maota and the gardens. Step inside the impressive hall of mirrors, known as Sheesh Mahal or "Diwaan-e-Khaas" and see the various gateways known as 'Pol' which make for countless photo opportunities. Mindful of ethical tourism practices, this tour does not offer elephant rides to the top of Amer Fort. Then, stop at Panna Meena ka Kund, a traditional Rajasthani Baori (or stepwell) which is known for its symmetrical architecture and zig-zag steps. This delightful spot was made famous in the movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and makes for a perfect memory of Rajasthan's incredible architecture. Choose to make a quick optional lunch break, at your own expense. As you head back towards Jaipur, make a final stop on the promenade of Lake Man Sagar, home to Jal Mahal or the Water Palace. This partially submerged summer palace also attracts migratory birds in the winters. The tour ends with a drop to your hotel or another place of preference within Jaipur.

Jaipur: Private Customised City Tour

2. Jaipur: Private Customised City Tour

Choose from a flexible starting time between 8-11 AM and pre-book a hassle-free pick-up from Jaipur Airport, the Railway Station or your hotel. This tour can be tailor-made to suit your interests and you can spend as much time as you wish at each location. In the 8-hour duration, you can visit between 5-6 sites in Jaipur. Enjoy full flexibility, whether you want to visit major sightseeing attractions, eat great street food, or shop in the colorful bazaars. Feel free to ask for recommendations while booking, or ask your friendly driver for suggestions on how to maximize your day. A private English-speaking guide (optional) can accompany you to explain the heritage and history, or give you tips on the hidden gems of the city. Travel at your own pace, and escape the heat and chaos in your air-conditioned car. Stop for lunch at a multi-cuisine restaurant or try authentic local Rajasthani cuisine. Explore the distinctive landmarks of Jaipur such as the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the City Palace and the remarkable collection at the Albert Hall Museum. If you are interested in astronomy, a visit to the world’s largest sundial at Jantar Mantar Observatory is highly recommended. Be amazed by Rajasthan’s extravagance at Amer Fort and Jal Mahal (Water Palace). For stunning aerial views of the surrounding countryside, climb to the top of Jaigarh. For something offbeat, consider visiting the stepwell at Panna Meena ka Kund, the Anokhi Museum for Hand Printing, or a cultural show at a Haveli. At the end of the day, request to be dropped-off at the airport, railway station or your hotel. This activity is the perfect way to absorb everything Jaipur has to offer without being bound by a fixed itinerary.

I suspect many reviews here will rave about the quality of the tour guide and professionalism of the driver (as they should, we had a very pleasant experience in our brief stint of 4 sites). I would like to tell anecdote about our experience. A party member was feeling ill in the morning, we reached out to the local partner and they were very accommodating to a delayed start time. After our tour started they were also accommodating and very friendly when a rest break was needed from the severe heat. We pushed our luck a little too much in the heat (104 F) and our party member succumbed to a fainting spell. The guide and driver were very attentive to her needs and ensured us safe passage back to the hotel, they were everything you could hope for as guests in a foreign country in a scary situation. I would trust them again without a doubt.

The tour was very well organized, Harshit was a great tour guide and gave his best to explain everything and answer our questions. He also accomodated our request to stop for a visit that was not planned at the beginning. We felt very safe in general going around with him and the driver. We would definitely recommend this tour to anybody who wants visit Jaipur and see all the main landmarks.

Great tour with Irfan and Rama Singh today, we explored Jaipur high and low starting with the Amer Fort and ending with the monkey palace. It’s great to be able to customise to what you want to see and Ifran offered many more points of interest that were more local and less touristy. We thoroughly enjoyed- thank you!

Harshit was an awesome guide. Showed us all the big spots in Jaipur & took us wherever we wanted to go & allowed us as much time as we needed where we were

Fabulous tour, friendly & knowledgeable guide. Took us to key sites and shared lots of insights
