Montañas del Fuego/Timanfaya National Park Visit the Fire Mountains in Timanfaya National Park, part of a vast area affected by the volcanic eruptions between 1730 and 1736. Experience experiments with the existing geothermal energy and enjoy a tour through the National Park. Learn more about the history of this natural wonder. Hear about the authentic records of a priest from Yaiza, which documented the volcanic eruptions in the 18th century, conveying an impression of how people’s lives were determined by this force of nature. Cueva de los Verdes Move on to visit the cave “Cueva de los Verdes”. Witness the lava tube, formed by the volcano La Corona, and one of the longest in the world. Learn about the heaving tunnels and cavities at different levels, which together reach a height of 40 meters and go far into the sea. Jameos del Agua See the two caves that are part of one of the longest lava tubes on earth. See how the artist Cesar Manrique creatively and tastefully designed this section of the tunnel to create a harmony between art and nature. Following the Footsteps of César Manrique: Four Art Centers

5. Following the Footsteps of César Manrique: Four Art Centers

César, a multidisciplinary artist, painter, sculptor, conservator of monuments and tourist resorts, designer of landscapes and gardens, and recognized ecologist, created from natural volcanic accidents a tendency that impacted the world. He managed to unite Art, Urbanism and Tourism in a single concept, under a philosophy and model of urban intervention based on sustainability and respect for the natural values of the territory, into what is now a world reference. The Island would be different without the Monument to the Peasant, Los Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Río, Cactus Garden or the Cave of the Greens. It would certainly be less attractive and with much less personality. Not visiting these Centers and works of art, being able to interpret them, is like not even having travelled here. This tour offers you the opportunity to discover the North of Lanzarote having a panoramic of Haría, Riscos de Famara and Volcán de la Corona. You will have the privilege to visit the art centers of Cesar Manrique such as Monument to the Peasant, Cactus Garden, Mirador del Río and Fundación César Manrique. Choose if you wish to visit Jameos del Agua or Cueva de los Verdes, two marvelous art centers which are a must in your visit to Lanzarote.
