Get picked up from your hotel in Port Elizabeth, Bluewater Bay, or Colchester. Spend a full day exploring the third largest National Park in South Africa with an expert local guide. The original elephant section of the park was proclaimed in 1931, when only eleven elephants remained in the area.  Today you can see a variety of predators, antelope, zebra species, endangered black rhino as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo.  The park is also the only one in the world to conserve the “Big 7” – the Big 5 as well as the southern right whale and great white shark off the Algoa Bay coast.  An excursion to the Addo Elephant park is a must when visiting this unique area.

Day 1: Route 62 Start with a morning pickup (6am to 7am) from your accommodation in Cape Town and Stellenbosch. Travel about 450km ( about 6 hours driving) along Route 62, the longest wine route in the world, with a wine-tasting stop (non-alcoholic tasting available too) before reaching Oudtshoorn by afternoon. For a close encounter with Mother Nature, opt in to join elephant guides on an Elephant Observation in Nature (at extra cost) and observe 3 lovable rescued elephants in their natural Cango Valley bush veld habitat. Overnight at Uthando Backpackers (Dorm or Saver Backpack package) or 88 van Rheede Guesthouse (3 star Comfort Stay package) or Hlangana lodge or similar (4 star Luxe package). Ask to upgrade to Buffelsdrift at extra fee. Day 2: Oudtshoorn Travel time today is about 250km / 3 hours. Visit a working ostrich farm and see the largest flightless birds in the world. Next, head to the mountains to go deep underground in the illuminated wonder world of the Cango Caves, exploring vast halls filled with ancient stalactites before traveling onward for about 400km to reach the Addo town region. Overnight at Avaco Cabins (Dorm or Saver -) or Gerald's Gift (Comfort-) or Addo Wildlife lodge or similar (Luxe package). Day 3: Addo, Jeffreys Bay Travel route about 300km / 3 hours. Rise early for the best chance to spot wildlife as the bush awakes in Addo Elephant National Park, the 3rd largest national park in South Africa. Join your own group after breakfast for the included 2-hour van game drive with your guide to search for some of the big five animals; if lucky you'll spot elephants, buffalos, lion & more. Travel about 200km to J'bay to either spend free time at the beach or choosing between optional surfing or beach horseback riding (extra cost). Overnight at Island Vibe (Dorm or Saver -) or Sea Whisper (Comfort -) or On The Beach Lodge or similar (Luxe package). Day 4: Tsitsikamma, Sedgefield Travel route about 300km / 3 hours. After breakfast, drive inland to experience an optional highest Bungy jump bridge in the world, optional Waterfall Zipline over waterfalls in Tsitsikamma forest (both at extra cost) or choose to have free time and arrive early to spend more time in Tsitsikamma National Park. After all had some time to explore the park, drive onward with a photo stop at Knysna's lagoon en route to Sedgefield. Overnight at Pili Pili Backpackers (Dorm or Saver-) Fairy Knowe (Comfort-) or Dolphin Dunes or similar (Luxe package). Day 5: Wilderness Travel route about 400km / 6 hours. Take the road back along the coastline and views of calm rivers in the wilderness region. Journey back to Cape Town, with an optional optional 4x4 Botlierskop game drive at extra cost. Your adventure ends with evening drop-offs in Cape Town or Stellenbosch (between 8pm to 10pm).

This learn-to-surf program is an all-inclusive lesson plan for beginner surfers. Follow a five-step program, with the ultimate goal of the lesson being to paddle, catch the wave, stand up and finally ride the wave toward the beach. For these lessons to be successful, groups are kept small so that each individual learner gets the necessary attention they require. Steps one to three are first explained and demonstrated on the beach, following this, they are put to practice in the ocean (in waist-deep water). Once steps one to three have been practiced successfully, you'll once again return to the beach with your instructor and go through the final two steps. Return to the ocean and practice these steps in order to achieve the ultimate goal of the surf lesson; standing up and riding a wave. At the end of the lesson, you'll be equipped with the necessary skills to practice basic surfing on your own.

Come and experience some thrilling fun in the sun and sand! The dunes around Jeffrey's Bay are ideal for sandboarding, from gentle slopes for beginners to steeper dunes for the brave. The area offers beautiful views of the St Francis Bay and if luck is on your side you may be able to see whales and dolphins playing in the Bay. Sandboarding is a board sport similar to snowboarding. It is a recreational activity that takes place on sand dunes rather than snow-covered mountains. This board sport is beloved by people who love the sensation of surfing but aren’t too keen to head out into the big blue sea. Your skilled instructors will give you clear, detailed directions for the best and easiest way to learn how to fly down the dunes. Whether you’ve done this before, or are brand new to this, by the end of your session you will be confident in sandboarding. Not up to standing? Enjoy the sand surfing boards. Kids love these! You can sit or lay down on these boards as they surf down the dunes ‘super-fast’. Under your instructors watchful gaze, the kids (and the more cautious adults) will wear themselves out running up the dunes to sled down the dunes over and over and over again. The dunes need to be dry to be boarded down so this is weather dependent. People of all ages are welcome to join for a dune-tastic experience in the best (sand) surfing spot in Southern Africa. Please note this activity will not take place during or after rains as dunes will be to wet for sandboarding. Please confirm condition beforehand if in doubt.

Hit the waves and experience the thrill of surfing on this beginners course. Learn how to paddle, catch waves, stand up, and ride the wave towards the beach for the first time. Enjoy instruction at Jeffrey Bay's oldest surf school in the company of qualified, professional coaches. Practice your first moves on the beach, as well as waist-deep in water. Learn skills and techniques to achieve the ultimate goal of the surf lesson: standing up and riding a wave. At the conclusion of the lesson you will be equipped with the necessary skills to practice basic surfing on your own. Take home souvenirs of your first surfing experience, as photographs will be taken throughout the session.

Get back to nature on a 5-day tour of the beautiful Garden Route and look for wildlife in nature reserves including Tsitsikamma National Park and Addo Elephant Park. Day 1: (D) Depart Cape Town and head towards Oudtshoorn in the semi-desert of Little Karoo with a stop at Ronnie’s sex shop for a refreshing drink! Explore the magnificent Cango Caves and visit an ostrich farm, where you can try to ride one! Spend the night in Oudtshoorn and enjoy a delicious ostrich braai dinner. Day 2: (D) Cross the mountain range to reach the coast and famous Garden Route. Get panoramic views from the Map of Africa lookout before visiting the charming town of Knysna. Continue through Plettenberg Bay to spend the night at Storms River village. Day 3: (B, D) Get back to nature in Tsitsikamma National Park. Walk the coastal route to the hanging bridge over Storms River Mouth. Continue to Addo Elephant National Park to spot huge elephant herds, antelope species and more. Alternatively, go straight to the surfing capital of South Africa at Jeffrey’s Bay, where you will spend the night. Day 4: (B, D) Head back towards the Garden Route to brave the world's highest bungee at Bloukrans. Enjoy a night in luxury accommodation at the Garden Route Game Lodge (guesthouse option). Go for a late afternoon safari drive to look for rhinos, lions, buffalo, cheetahs, and antelopes. Day 5: (B) Take an early morning safari drive to look for animals when they are most active. Depart for Hermanus, where Southern Right whales have returned after almost 50 years of being near extinct. Arrive in Cape Town in the late afternoon via the stunning False Bay coastline.

Day 3: Oudtshoorn Capture the beauty of the high mountains and rugged Karoo Plains on a drive along the legendary Route 62 to reach and explore the Cango Caves. Day 5: Addo and J’bay Look for wildlife on a game drive by tour bus at Addo Elephant National Park, home to the densest population of wild elephants on the planet. Chill at J’bay Beach: relax or swim, or join in optional activities like beach horse riding or surfing. Day 6: Wilderness Face your fear during an optional jump from the world's highest bungee bridge at the Bloukrans, zip-line over waterfalls, or have more time to explore the Tsitsikamma National Park. Day 7: Wilderness National Park Venture along the coast through the Wilderness region towards the Cape. Day 1: Cape Town to Cape Agulhas Today our adventure begins early, as we take a beautiful drive along the scenic R44 mountain pass looking out over False bay and the quaint seaside town of Hermanus. We stop over at a local Brewery to try some interesting fine beers and then make our way to the southernmost tips of Africa, Cape Agulhas national Park. Included Highlights: Land Based Whale Watching/ Beer/Wine tasting Day 2: Cape Agulhas to Sedgefield: Zipline Obstacle course & Aloe Factory This morning we enjoy some breakfast and travel further into the garden route. We stop over at an Aloe Factory and later stop to enjoy either a canopy tour, or cross over rope bridges, wobbly crossings and thrilling zip wires in the trees. Meals: Breakfast Optional Activities: Treetop Obstacle Course & Zipline or Quad Biking Day 3: Oudtshoorn day trip This morning we start with a scenic drive over the Outeniqua mountain range into the Klein Karoo, a semi desert region and also Oudtshoorn. Firstly we stop over at the majestic Cango Caves. The caves are millions of years old, is a world heritage site and considered as one of the great wonders of the world. Later we visit the Cango Endangered Wildlife Ranch where we can see cheetah, cage dive with crocodiles and see many other endangered animals. Meals: Breakfast Included Highlights: Standard or Adventure guided tour of Cango Caves OR Cango Endangered Wildlife Ranch Day 4: Sedgefield – Jeffrey’s Bay: Monkey OR Elephant Sanctuary, Bloukrans Bungee & Tsitsikamma National Park This morning we take a picturesque drive through Knysna and make our way to crags where we can either visit an elephant sanctuary or a monkey sanctuary. Next stop is the world’s highest Bungee Jump or you can choose to take a stunning walk through Tsitsikamma national Park to the storms river swing bridges. After that we travel to Jeffreys bay, known for it’s amazing surf spots and we stay overnight right on the beach. Meals: Breakfast Optional Activities: Elephant Sanctuary OR Monkey Sanctuary, Bloukrans Bungee Jump, Bloukrans Bridge Walking Tour Day 5: Jeffrey’s bay – Addo National Park – Sedgefield: Game Drive (Addo), Surfing, shopping time (Jeffrey’s Bay) This morning we have the option to choose between sleeping in and exploring the town and shops or go for a surf lesson, or you can choose to rise early and make our way to Addo National Park and enjoy a morning game drive where we can see a huge variety of different wildlife such as the Big 5. If there is time we will visit Knysna Heads .
