Barcelona: Joan Miro Foundation Art Historian Private Tour

10. Barcelona: Joan Miro Foundation Art Historian Private Tour

Approach the contemporary art collection at the Fundació Miró in a personalized and insightful manner. Your local guide has specialized in art history and will accompany you to the museum and give a short introduction to the tour and the Monjuïc hill. Once at the museum, enjoy avoiding the queue and enter directly. Discover why Joan Miró is one of the most important artists of the twentieth century. His simple forms and primary colors forged a highly personal artistic universe. At the same time, his particular way of working, the size of his canvases, his powerful colors and expressive use of paint, and the integration of objects into his works make him a clear exponent of modern artistic sensibility. A variety of spaces allow visitors to venture into an interdisciplinary exploration of the highly personal language and production of one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. A series of overarching themes illustrate key concepts in Miró’s work and in the thinking of his times while reflecting the artist’s desire to transcend conventional painting. The paintings related to Surrealism and the works based on the Spanish Civil War are particularly noteworthy due to their artistic and poetic significance. Other important pieces include the large canvases Miró produced from the late seventies onwards, which are characterized by large fields of color and free gesture. The Fundació also devotes a wing to the Kazumasa Katsuta collection, which allows visitors to explore a dialogue between East and West, highlighting the universality of Joan Miró’s work. The Fundació Joan Miró is a remarkable space created by Joan Miró himself with the idea of making art accessible to all. Your guide is prepared to customize the tour to meet the needs of each guest, whether you are a visitor with a general interest or a seasoned art lover. After enjoying your personalized tour, spend time visiting the temporary exhibitions or re-visit a specific artwork independently. You may want to reflect on the exhibits by having a coffee in a cafeteria.

Get directions adress was not among adresses on the list so I mailed help center and they answered me that is fault and I go on adress on the list. Everybody, in tourist center and in whole Barcelona are very kind and polite. We didn't see so much because we arrived later but free public transportation is great. We were in Picasso museum, Moco museum, Wox museum, Aquarium. Also, Sagrada Familia and Park Guell but not with this card. We were there 2 days at the end, but I went with 12y.o. son, for him is cheaper so it's ok price. No worry. We'll come back! Charming Barcelona!!!!

Save you time and money. Uber and taxis not always available. Plus buses / metro routes are well planned And you will save extra bucks if you are planning to visit some museums

So glad that we were able to get full access tickets. We took an uber from Paris and wanted to do the tour on our own timetable. It worked out perfect! It was a long day!

It was a good tour but since it’s winter, it’s cold outside when the bus running. But it’s an expected thing anyways :)

Excellent value for money, cheaper than Versailles website
