Darwin: Kakadu & Nourlangie Day Trip Plus Billabong Cruise

1. Darwin: Kakadu & Nourlangie Day Trip Plus Billabong Cruise

Explore the landscape of Kakadu National Park on a 13-hour tour. Discover mangrove-fringed coastal areas that blend into expansive flood plains, lowland hills flanked to the east by sandstone escarpments, all interwoven between various open woodland and forest habitats. Visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre to view the informative displays depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people, before your return to Darwin. There is also the opportunity for an optional 50-minute scenic flight (own expense) for a different perspective of this vibrant landscape. Next, join a local guide for a cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong. Search for saltwater crocodiles and the colorful range of birdlife for which this region is renowned. Teeming with wildlife in the water, land, and air, the many species that provide a diversity and concentration seen nowhere else add to the natural spectacle. See how the land takes on different forms and colors with the passing of each season. After lunch, travel across the Adelaide River and Marrakai Plains, and stop at Nourlangie Rock, where your guide will lead a walk to view the ancient Aboriginal rock art.

What people are saying about Kakadu National Park

The overall trip was very pleasant. The driver was knowledgeable and courteous. The fact we were able to get off the bus and walk around on our own was really worth the trip. I enjoyed being able to walk on my own and take pictures as I pleased. The bus was very roomy and clean. I did get a little concerned when we were driving into Finke Gorge, seemed a bit of a bumpy ride but, we made it! Overall I would recommend this tour and would do it again.

A long day but the driver / tour guide Michael made it interesting. Kakadu is amazing. Wallabies, wild horses, cattle , buffalo, native birds, ancient art, wetlands, yellow river cruise and crocs…Kakadu and Nourlangie art site walk. Well worth a visit. Bring your bottle and water will be topped up. Stops for breaks and stretches are provided. Tasty cold lunch buffet was included too.

It was a very interesting tour. The walk at Palm Valley was a little difficult in parts and many thanks to our wonderful driver and guide, Dave, who helped us get up to the top and then down again. I think we were a bit optimistic about our mountain-climbing abilities but the view once we were up there was well worth it.

Take some insect repellant on the Billabong. It was fantastic and the water lillies were beautiful and vast. We saw a crocodile in the Billabong and our guide Travis was really informative. Lots of birdlife and so relaxing. It was a long day but well worth it.

Very knowledgeable and friendly guide (Harry) and stunning views and scenery in the Valley. Great morning tea and good picnic. Highly recommended tour!
