    Visit an 11th-century UNESCO World Heritage site at Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis painted church, a former monastery where only the chapel survives. The frescoes are superb, dating from the 11th century onward. Meander inside the picturesque old part of Kakopetria village. Visit old olive and grape presses, an old church, and a watermill. Take a short walk along a shaded stream opposite the old part of Kakopetria village.

    Cyprus coffee on a coffee shop veranda overlooking the stream is highly recommended, as is a fresh trout meal at a nearby restaurant. Enjoy a customizable route, choosing between Panagia tis Asinou Unesco World Heritage church and of Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis, having a meal in Kakopetria or taking an easy 7 kilometer Artemis walk on the top of Cyprus, or even Caledonia walking trail above Platres village.
