Overall rating

4.7 / 5

This was a well organized, informative and enjoyable trip. The guide was witty and very knowledgeable, as only someone who grew up there could be. This format is better suited to independently minded travelers: think of it as a minibus transfer between monasteries with live commentary. So nobody will shepherd you into a restaurant or toilet. If you need either, it's up to you within the time window allowed at each stop. Only one monastery had a small kiosk selling light snacks, so bringing sustenance is essential. The guide mentioned that the tour normally starts with a quick lunch, but because the train was delayed the group decided to skip that in favor of a snack on the go.

Majestic and Breathtaking view and Fantastic experience. If u have a day to spare in greece it is highly recommended to visit. It’s quite a trip from athens to Kalambaka about 4 1/2hrs journey but it’s worth it. It was misty when we arrived there but eventually it became clear and we saw the stunning view from the top. Out Tour Guide Chris is very funny there was no dull moment during the tour that’s why we enjoyed a lot and he’s very engaged and detailed while telling the history of the monastery and the whole place that’s make it amazing. He is superb. I definitely coming back again.

It was great - an easy comfortable tour in a pleasant company. Impressions from what he saw are only positive, from beauty "the spirit intercepts", there are simply no words

Jannis is a very good guide. He knows his history and is very patient. I highly recommend the trip, the scenery is breathtaking.
