While the 2:30am wake up to make it to Mt Batur in time for sunrise was rough, it was 1000% worth it when got up there! Even with the clouds in the sky (due to it being rainy season) we were blown away by what we saw. It’s also really cool to see a bunch of Jeeps gathering on the side of a mountain to watch the sunrise! After the sun was up, our awesome Jeep driver took us to the lava fields, left from the 1963 major eruption of the volcano. We were able to walk around the lava fields, with views of Mt Agung, and truly it was like nothing we’ve ever seen before. The whole thing was capped off with a visit to some hotsprings, which was a nice touch (though certainly not the crowning jewel of this tour). Overall I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!

Do not hesitate to book! The name of my tour guide was Nuri and he was excellent. At almost any important site, he was quick enough to provide me with accurate statistical and historical facts. Due to unprecedented conditions, I was unable to enter the temples, but that did not stop Nuri from making this day trip memorable. He was kind enough to take me to other touristy spots and offered to take pictures at every moment. If anyone gets the chance to meet this guide or simply book with this tour company just know you are in for a wonderful experience.
