Full description
Start your tour by meeting your guide at the fragments of the city walls and the magnificent St. Florian's Gate. Take a look at the historic Barbican and take a walk along the Royal Route - the same route used by kings and their guests on their way to the castle. Walk through the Main Square - the bustling heart of the city is an ideal place to buy souvenirs, especially in the Cloth Hall, which has been the local marketplace for centuries. Complete your tour with knowledge about St. Mary's Church, which features a magnificent medieval altar carved by Wit Stoss and the bugle call sounds every hour towards the four corners of the world. Walk further along Kanonicza and Grodzka streets, enter Collegium Maius, the oldest building of the Cracoviensis Academy with a charming Gothic courtyard. Then, enter the Wawel Hill, which is the embodiment of Poland's former monarchical glory. At its top, there is the Royal Castle and the 14th-century cathedral, where almost all coronations and funerals of the Polish monarchy took place.

Our guide Konrad was very pleasant and engaging. Very knowledgeable as well. Our tour started out in the pouring rain, so the first few minutes in the Jewish quarter we’re from the van. We were able to walk about when the rain stopped. Konrad offered a place to buy a rain poncho or umbrella if we needed one. We got separated from the group for a time and he didn't seem annoyed with us at all (although we were rather embarrassed!).

A good tour of the principal sights in Kazimierz and the Old Town

The tour guide, Carolina, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The minibus took us firstly to Kazimierz for a brief tour of the old Jewish square. The minibus then tool us back to Wawel, where we walked up the hill and visited the Cathedral and the Castle with our guide. We then walked back down the hill and along the Coronation Way into the Main Square to visit St Anne's Church and see the various historic buildings along the way. This is essentially a walking tour, no problem for us, but one American lady struggled with this. I would recommend this tour.
