I can only recommend the day tour to Taman Negara. The bus leaves at 5 a.m. and after about 3.5 hours you are already at the national park. The tour is guided by a ranger along a well-prepared path. It goes up and down the river in a boat. You'll get wet down to your underpants, but it's great fun. A visit to a small nomad village with making a fire and shooting blowball rounds off the whole thing. A meal is also included before heading back to KL. All in all an eventful day.

We had a really great time at Taman Negara National Park. Especially the hike through the jungle, the view points and the canopy walk where amazing. Also had the best time at river rafting. The only negative/improveable thing where the changing rooms after getting really wet at the rafting. We had to walk all the way from the river to the village (5 minute walk) to get ourselfs changed at a public toilet. But besides that the tour was amazing and totally worth the money.

A great day trip. The ascent in the rainforest is rewarded with a great panorama. The view over the valley is beautiful. The boat tour is a lot of fun, especially at the end where everyone gets wet, it's best to enjoy the final part of the boat tour in your bathing suit.
