Toshi is the best guide my husband and I could have found for our whirlwind tour of Kyoto! He took us to as many of the “important” sights as possible within our full-day tour, but also helped us personally. There’s no way we would have managed the tricky logistics for the next day’s trip back to Tokyo without his help! We found Toshi to be very knowledgeable & competent, yet he was easy to relate to, and his enthusiasm about the sights he showed us was contagious! He toured us through several shrines/temples and the Golden Pavilion, then for an early evening walk through Gion… where we were lucky enough to see several true Maikos and a Geisha! Oh, and one more very important “aid” for our learning and appreciation of all things Japanese: Toshi’s English is perfect, and he was extremely understandable to us. That just makes it all so much better!

Fumiko-san has prepared an itinerary for us to visit some of the most beautiful sites in Kyoto. All fed with anecdotes and information, each more interesting than the next. She went out of her way to help us with some of our memorabilia research and I am very grateful to her. I highly recommend this experience. Thank you Fumiko-san!

Despite the rain yesterday, fantastic time touring around with my guide Satomi in Kyoto. Incredibly knowledgeable, organized, and fun. We visited Nijo Castle, Kinkakuji Temple, and Fushimi Inari, along with an Udon Noodle & tempura lunch, and I finished with a stop at Sanjusangendo temple containing over 1,000 Buddhist warriors, based on her recommendation. She planned out the itinerary with suggestions. Then went above and beyond to help me plan for the next day in Kyoto, as well as the rest of my trip in other areas of Japan. That was the best, as I have already been lots of places, so now I’ll visit Nikki and the northeast of Japan based on her advice. Phenomenal tour guide!!
