2. Kyoto Sake Brewery Tour

The Gekkeikan Okura sake museum have been making sake since 1637, with a nearly 4 century-old process. You'll be able to see how things have been done for generations.  At the museum you will also get a chance to see the sake brewery and get a sense of the traditional brewing process which involves a combination of water, malt, yeast and steamed rice. The different cut or variety of rice plays a big part in the distinction of the sake. If a grain of rice has a little grain shaved off, it is more bitter. Generally, the more grain that is shaved, the more sweet it will taste.

Eat and drink

A very nice guide who explains well We end the day very tired (do not plan anything after lol) Just a small flat: I would have liked to see in real life one of the stages of the manufacture of sake but maybe summer is not the good season for that Procedure: we visit, we eat and we drink. We revisit, we drink and we can still eat; this 2nd part in a nice bar

Hiroe Yoshida was very informative and was a fabulous tour guide!

My son Chris and I had a great time touring Kizakura Kappa Country Sake Brewery and learning about the history of Sake. The lunch was great and then my son and I sampled 18 sakes. Hiroe was a great guide and I would strongly recommend her.

With our Japanese tour guide Akari we spent nice hours on our 5 h sake tour. We visited the sake museum and did various sake tastings in different locations. Interesting excursion with a knowledgeable and fun guide. Christian & Eva
