You’ll be picked up at your Puno accommodation at the beginning of this full-day excursion to Lake Titicaca. An English-speaking guide will accompany you as you travel to the lake’s islands of Uros and Taquille. Uros is a group of islands whose buildings are made entirely of tortora reeds. It is home to a small community that dates back to pre-Inca times. Spend some time with the local residents before continuing on to Taquile – an island whose culture is more closely related to that of the Aymara people of Bolivia. You’ll enjoy a locally prepared lunch on the island before visiting the local cooperative and seeing first-hand the skill of the local weavers. Return to Puno and to your lodge after a unique look at the cultures of these islands.

Depart Puno and journey to the floating islands of the Uros people on Lake Titicaca. Find out about how these islands are created by the locals using bundles of dried totora reeds. Learn the history of the area and interact with the locals to hear more about their life out on the water. Then, cruise over to Taquile Island in the largest part of Lake Titicaca. Experience life on the lake up close and get some stunning views of the Andes Mountains as a bonus.  Hear about the inhabitants of Taquile Island and how they descended from the Inca people to mostly work as farmers and weavers, and how they have inherited some distinct Inca traditions. Go for a medium-level hike on the island, known for its handwoven art and collective farms, and enjoy a lunch of local produce served in a local restaurant. Then, return to Puno city on the shore of the lake for the end of the tour services.

Discover the islands of Lake Titicaca on this 2-day tour from Puno. Spend the night at a homestay on Amantani Island and learn about local traditions. Day 1: Uros Islands and Amantani Head to the legendary floating reed islands by motorboat. On Amantani Island the tour breaks into smaller groups for stays with local families. During the trip, enjoy a series of exciting stops at different centers and tourist attractions. Start with a 35-minute tour of the Andahuaylillas Sistine Chapel of America Temple and prepare to be amazed. Later, explore the Raqchi Archaeological Complex, before reaching Sicuani, where you can sit down to enjoy a buffet lunch at the restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the beautiful Paso la Raya, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Explore the Pucará Lithic Museum. Arrival at your hotel in Puno in Puno they will be waiting for you to take you to the hotel. Day 2: Puno, Uros, Taquile, Cusco Your second day will start early with a 715 AM hotel pickup and a transfer to the Port of Puno. Board your boat and head to the Uros, where you will participate in a cultural demonstration that will allow you to discover the Uros way of life. Visit the Taquile Islands and get to know the local culture Take a beautiful walk and full of incredible photo opportunities. Pause for lunch in the afternoon at a local restaurant where there will be a local menu of fried trout and quinoa soup where you can see the life of the taquiles. Then, return to Puno in the afternoon, usually around 4 PM. Then you will return to the hotel where you can wait in the waiting room and go out for dinner on your own. At 915 PM, your transfer will arrive to take you to the bus station, boarding at 10 PM. Arrive at the Cusco terminal at 5 AM in the morning, and end of the tour. Day 1 Meet at the bus terminal in Cusco in the evening and board your overnight bus to Puno, the bus departs from Cusco at 9:30 pm. The address to the terminal is Industrial 550. Day 2 After a night on the road, arrive in Puno in the morning, around 5:30 am. Transfer to our partner hostel where you can store your luggage for free, while you go on the tour. Next, take the boat out to the Uros Islands for a guided tour of the famous floating reed islands. Cruise the highest navigable lake in the world out to the remote Island of Amantani. Enjoy a guided tour of Amantani island. Learn the traditional history, lifestyle, and cultures of the island community. Around 12:30 pm, take the boat across to the Llachon Peninsula. Lunch in the shore-side village of Llachon. Witness the seasonal activities of this rural community and enjoy some free time in one of the most picturesque hideaways on Lake Titicaca. In Puno, enjoy some free to explore the city or go for dinner at one of the many restaurants before boarding your overnight bus back to Cusco, at 9:30 pm, from our partner hostel. Day 3 Get dropped off at your hotel or hostel in Cusco in the morning.

Enjoy a boat trip on Lake Titicaca and visit the floating islands of Uros. The inhabitants of the lake are referred to as the Water Tribe and have built their own islands with a local type of sugarcane. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. The next stop is Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua speakers who have developed unique and effective social systems and hand-weaving techniques. Stop for a typical lunch in the village of Taquile. Take a walk through the hills and archaeological sites of this 6-kilometer-long island before returning to Puno by boat.

Day 1: Early in the morning, we will pick you up at the hotel located in the city of Puno to go to the port lake, and take the regular boat to start the excursion visiting the Uros Floating Islands. These beautiful islands, handmade by the man, are made with totora reed and there are about 80 islands of this material around. The islands of Uros are built by weaving the totora reed and also, they build their houses with the same material and cook outdoors to avoid fires. You will meet the friendly Uros people, their customs and lifestyle. The Titicaca tour continues taking a boat ride towards Amantani Island, sailing the extensive Lake Titicaca considered the highest navigable lake in the world with an altitude of 3,812 meters above sea level, and it is the second largest lake in South America. Upon arrival, the friendly community will welcome us. There are in total 800 families and this mystical island has important ceremonial centers and shamans who see the future through coca leaves. We will have lunch with the local people to learn more about their lifestyle. Then we will ascend to Pacha Tata (4,100 meters above sea level), where is located the most important mystical ceremonial center of the Lake Titicaca, to see the beautiful sunset. Enjoy a lovely dinner with the local people, and if you wish, then you can participate in traditional activities with them. You will spend the night in a cozy family house. Day 2: After a traditional Andean breakfast, we will embark on the boat to visit Taquile Island, located 28 miles from Amantaní Island. Taquile has an altitude of 3,950 meters above sea level, however, the highest point reaches 4,050 meters. On this island, you will enjoy spectacular Lake views, as well as its landscapes surrounded by Andes mountains and an amazing blue sky. Here you will admire wonderful flora such as the Cantuta flower, and the medicinal plant Muña with healing properties, most used in infusions. The fauna is from farm animals such as cows, rams, chickens, among others. We will appreciate a special show of the local community with dances, music and a photo session with traditional costumes, while you are enjoying lunch. The Taquile island is well known because of its talented people. The textile art is really impressive with ancient and organic techniques, like the use of natural dyeing from vegetables. At the end, we will take the boat back towards the port lake of the city of Puno. Then, we are going to drop you off at your hotel.

Day 1: Tour Uros Taquile speedboat 1 Day Our departure begins at 7:30 a.m. from your hotel or from the bus station in Puno. To go in a private transport to the pier or main port. At 8:00 am, we start the departure towards the floating islands of the Uros, currently considered the National Reserve of Lake Titicaca. Also known as the highest navigable lake in the world. Chacaltaya Mountain is 27 km from downtown La Paz, it is a mountain with 5400 m.a.s.l., it was a sky slopes the hightest of world. Nowadays, this is a magnific viewpoint of Mountain range, different colors laggon, La Paz City, Titicaca lake and hightlands boliviano. Enjoy walking on mountain hight. The difficulty of the ascent of the mountain is relatively easy when there is little snow, although due to the height and oxygen it turns out to be hard. You can return to the car at any time if you feel unwell. Once we have visited the mountain, our transport is taking us to the valley of the moon, this journey lasts approximately 1h 30m if we have a clear path. Moon Valley is 39 km aprox. from Chacalataya mountain, we descent until 3200 m.a.s.l. Here, it is eroded area with clay obelisks and sometimes "viscachas" tipical animal of hightlands. We need only imagine and feel be as the moon. Once the visit of the valley is over, we will return to the center of the city of La Paz.
